Had both rears plus all the bits that go with them replaced on my 2004 WRX just before Xmas, so its not exclusive to STi's, and I dont hammer the car.
Job was done by Petch at Richmond and it was no hassle whatsoever. They sorted everything out with Subaru, got the car in within 3 days of me ringing, gave me a loan car for the morning and gave me several cups of steaming coffee on my return. They then entertained us by ripping the living p*ss out of each other for a good 15 mins before my very clean and shiney motor rolled off the ramp.
The goodwill gesture from the original dealership consisted of a small quantity of optimax vapour.
I obviously misheard them - I could have sworn they said "free tank of petrol" and not "a tank free of petrol".
Step forward GMD Durham and take a bow. Simply the breast.

My first battery (on an MY 02 WRX) lasted about two years. First was replaced under Warranty. The second one fitted lasted only about 1.5 years. The second obviously failed outside of the 3 year car warranty, but it was only 18 months old itself. Dealer refused to supply a new one, even though (judging by comments on SN) the batteries aren't great. They did offer to fit a new one of the same type, for just the price of the battery. I declined.

so which dealership do you work at then fella ?????????
we/i am well aware of this policy, even though its utter pants, the parts should carry there own warranty, just as with a t.v dishwasher fridge freezer etc
we got a washing machine replaced whilst under the extended warranty period,we had 4 months left on the warranty, did our new washer come with a 4 month warranty ???????? Did it ****,it carried a standard 12 month warranty

I don't work at a dealership - and as for it being pants, well I can understand your comment however I was just noting that Suabru are no different to any other brand!
