hi Brun
Glad it didnt work out too badly for you .
Couple of guys I work with here got demoted recently after they pushed back an aircraft one night with the airbridge still connected (Don't ask me how they missed it as it aint exactly a little thing! )
Anyhows their wages were also bumped down also to a lower scale so afaik it is possible

Where i work you'd get a written warning. Demotion is not the way to go unless they dont think you can do the job.

they can cut your wages if they demote you, that is the only time wages can be cut.

Hes probably said it in the heat of the moment. Though, I must say very unprofessional to do so.

Very surprised that your getting a disciplinary. People do make mistakes - and its always the moral high ground when its someone elses fault.

I'd watch the external interview as they tend to be a jobsworth who ticks the boxes irrelevant of the practicalities and understanding (i.e. clueless).

Good luck - if it was me I'd say you've just had 2K worth of training!

Sounds like a flawed system if one switch controls the liklehood of a disaster like that.
Next time lie in the middle holding your head and sue them for lack of health and safety precautions

If the pay cut is going to be a lot i'd ask if you could pay for the goods lost as it's only a couple of k, if you're going to be there a while longer it may be worth it.

..............and there's more.
Apparently the water board have been in touch and there is a fair amount of glucose sat in the drains around our estate so they are gonna have to flush them out at a cost to us I'm guessing this could run into £0000's.
As they've already disciplined me for this, can they add some more discipline to me with this new evidence coming to light?

eek, least you could blame diesel on the water company :/

No idea if they can do any more than they have, I'm guessing if they wanted to they probably could

no mate will fall under the companies liability insurance for the clean up bill, or the company will just pay it

tbh i think the writen warning seem fair, was a mistake, shouldn't have hapened, but people are only human.
