I was a religous Tesco 99ron man, as (1) thats what the prevoius owner told me he always used and (2) I thought more ron the better.

However, after reading this and other threads posted recently I run my car low and put in V-power, and all I can say is WOW!!!!

The car feels more respsonsive, quicker to accerate, smoother off boost and low down revs. It feels like the same sort of power increase I got when I added my decatt exhaust.

All this for just a different fuel, who'd a thunk it!!!

V-POWER ALL THE WAY I SAY!!!

v-power every time in my standard uk turbo 2000. I have tried tesco and bp and i feel v-power is better. Even better is a mix of octane boost and v-power but i don't think this is good for the engine(good fun though)

MY06 STI PPP : did full throttle logs for both v-Power and Tesco 99 via the OBD, on Tesco the boost curve was a hair higher midrange and the ign advance a teeny bit lower, At peak power no difference at all (apart from about 5p a litre.............)

What do you all do if you are low on fuel and the Tesco or Shell garage you pull up at has ran out of Super. Happened to me this morning. Whack in some booster at the earliest opportunity, don't worry about it and fill up, or put in a little bit and search for another garage?

Esso Supreme. Shell V-Power is now an extinct species in West Cumbria.

Mapped on Tesco 99 + Octane (+2 ) booster. But my car feels better with V Power.

If im driving on the motorway and there are non of the above. I use +4 octane booster and fill up half a tank and take it easy without too much of the boost.

what should i use then . The sticker on fuel flap does say use super unleaded and i have been using v-power.
I did also read somewhere that the engine ecu will adapte to the fuel you use but does take some time

Optimax then after fitting the ESL Daughterboard (which coincidentally was a week after V-Power came out) i did the ECU reset and have been running her on V-Power ever since. Lovely GO-GO juice it is!!!

I've used both V Power and Tesco 99 but i'm still running the damn thing in so haven't noticed any difference yet.I get the same hesitation at low revs when cold on both.

Will experiment more when run in and i'm hoping Tesco runs as well as V Power. My nearest Shell garage is a 30 mile round trip but my nearest Tesco is a 15 mile round trip and it's a lot cheaper.V Power is extortionate if you ask me,98p L compared to 91p L Tesco.

If i knew for definate that V Power was better for performance and the engine then i'd use it religiously but as it's all still hearsay......

Now if BP Ultimate was any good i'd be laughing, got a BP garage local but won't be using it !

alot of research goes into shell fuels

theres more to it than just how quicker it makes your car go !

like helps to clean inside your engine for 1

read shell website

Run my UK MY99 with full decat on Tesco 99 ron, I think its the best really for the money, I do put V Power in sometimes but to be honest I haven't noticed any real difference between the two...Sainsbury's on the other hand was crp, it actually had a noticeable effect on my cars performance and I was glad when it ran out.
