Excellent place to go , went in 2005 for a weeks diving then again in april 2006 as a family hol , was a bit scary when the incident in dahab happened .
All the hotels security doubled up , but still felt safe . Quad biking is a must and also the shorkel trip is ras mohammed .
But beware of the ' come into my shop and sign my guest book ' tack tick as this will cost you !!
Have fun

That alone makes me want to go there

Last time I thought we had a good deal was 50 euros for 7 hours free ranging on a quad bike in Spain!

Sorry for the hijack... Our neighbours go there every year and always seem to have an amazing time!

we shall be booking to go quad biking and we're thinking of going to the pyramids ( but I think we'll fly as it's a long trip by road )

Other people have warned us of the "come into my shop" tack tick , but thanks

Hi clone67,

Cairo cost us £110 - that includes being picked and dropped from the hotel ( early start - 6am ), fly with Egypt Air ( 45mins flight ) + entrance for the museum with an English speaking guide...

Also included visiting The Pyramids and The Sphinx, perfume factory, papyrus factory and the market.

Plus lunch on the Nile was also included...

The whole day we had a car to ourselves and an English speaking guide...

Think that was it

We did the pyramids in cairo and went by plane , was a very expensive trip as for 2 adults and 2 15 year olds cost about £800 and got hassled all day to buy things and they was trying to get you on camels to take a picture then charge you to get off . It was like playing british bulldog getting from the coach to the pyramid without the traders catching you . Have been told either learn the egyptian phase that says i live here anywhere or tell them to f**k off and leave us alone then there'll go away . Apart from that was a brill holiday . Also did the camel ride into the mountains with the bedouin and had food and the star gazing , that was good as well . Was meant to go diving in the blue hole but was canelled due to the incident in april 06 so dahab was closed off on the day we were going , but the blue hole diving / snorkelling so meant to be good .

What for a 2 week trip

Done durhab dives whilst stayin at the hilton, enjoyed those - except when he tore up 1/2 the reef cos the normal bouy had been snaffled

Did 'the trip' to ras muhammed as a finale and bust me mask getting off the boat - too rushed too many people prolly wont bother again
