My best was a 8:45 in my Clio 182 Cup.

Going back in July, will have my Spec-c by then, so hoping for a sub 8:30 lap.

Its so random tho, as you dont know what traffic you will get, or how many idiot bikers will have fallen off 9as thats all they do!!)

For me, the slowest thing around the 'ring are the bikers, and they all seem to think they own it.

Granted there are a few that can ride, but it is only a few!

Oh and that view is coming from someone who has always had bikes in his family. OK i am not a rider but have been a passenger more times than i care to rememeber.

but ho hum... carry on!

Will hopefuly be going round there in September. No idea what time I'll do. All I'm hoping for is to get round in one piece with my seats still clean.

Don't bother about times. Relax and enjoy it all.

I've done about 9mins in the RB5. I'm only guessing though, one of my first laps was a 9.30ish by the video score and that felt pretty slow.

Great place

It appears as though you have the wrong attitude for the ring

It is true that sometimes new bikers can be a bit slow with using their mirrors but generally thats because they have ALOT to concentrate on. That can also be said for car drivers.

Phil, you were a passenger in it when we went after your mate in the Orange Evo if you remember, when we all got caught behind the ring taxi and he wouldnt let us pass (although that wasn't the 8.05 lap!)

I have only had four whole laps of the place, as we were on a major detour on the way home to be there in the first place.

I had a bit of a sideways moment on my first lap, did a slow second to cruise that bit of track and see my rubber marks and then did a 9:53 (according to my rather sea sick passenger), by following a helpful couple of beemers.

My tyres were pretty shot after the cool down lap. 40 minutes use!

I'm really not sure I see the point in timing when it's clear that some people don't even know which way the track goes?

I'd have to agree with him though, as a biker myself I was shocked at the riding standard I encountered there on my first trip, it's never got better either.

I think half the trouble is that you only catch the poor riders that have enough on their plate just staying on the thing.

Be there for the end of May bank holiday, hopefully getting some sticky tyres and going for the 8 min barrier! (No worries on the vid!)

I thought people weren't allowed to record their laps. Was that camera hidden or was I told wrong?

You were allowed to record your laps until fairly recently.

Did a few 9 minute BTG laps in my old turbocharged Clio. A better driver probably could have gone a little faster but a 9 is quick enough for a road car that needs to be driven home again LOL

I'll be happy with something under 10 in my wagon when we go over at the end of May. It's more the satisfaction of a good smooth lap rather than any particular time though IMHO.

Only ever did 5 laps did a 9.07 on my 4th in a stock 93WRX with shot brakes but had a big slow down every lap due to accidents as it was a bank hol. Guttman sat in with me for a sighting lap on my 2nd which was a help. Will be out again this year with some proper brakes and hopefully a clearer track to go under 9.

The camera is quite well hidden and do not film every lap

Roll on tomorrow afternoon

I have a good few hundred pictures from the weekend and I will link them up when I have resized them all.

I got a couple of nice ones of you Phil

Any of you guys driving the RB5 which absolutely blitzed me on the starting straight and a couple of corners later indicated and moved over for me

I thought the track was really quiet considering how busy the general area was

As for the bike comments, they have as much right to drive the track as the car owners do. If you want seperate bike and car days you half the number of days the track will be available for yourself

I have said it before and I will say it again, there are no trophys in tourist driving. If the car / bike infront is not playing ball hang back wait and pass only when it's safe to do so. Then have a chat with the guy in the car park after, he may not even know what he was doing wrong.

I witnessed Brit cars passing on the wrong side this weekend too
