Idiots banging doors into your pride and joy
#32
had this happen loads to my motors
Old guy banged his door into my scooby when I was sat inside at motorway services-guy said "thats what door rubbing strips are for" and fecked off inside services.
I left him with 2 flat tyres as "thats what spare tyres are for"
Another time at Tescos I was inside car waitin for turbo to cool down before turning engine off when a noob in a beemer pulls in so close to my drivers door I couldnt get out. I put down my passenger window and ask him politely to move as he was walking away but he looks at me for 2 secs then carries on walking off. So I pull out of the space and unscrew the centres out of his tyre valves and gaffa taped them to his drivers window with a note thanking him for not moving his car!
Most recently I was walking back to my car and I saw this chavvy noob with a newish bright orange focus parked next to me but sat on MY front wing chatting to 2 more chavs WTF!
Luckily there was no dent or damage to my car but his "**** you" attitude caused damage to his bonnet as his face smashed into it - while his mates just stood and watched him
There are more, but not suitable for this forum!

The worst ones are the babyseats in 3 doors. The doors are bigger, they have to be opened wider to gain full access to the rear seats

The amount of cars parked up without blue badges makes me seeth. I'd make it an endorsable penalty.
Doesn't help either, mine is also covered in parking scrapes and it seems everyone just walks close enough to let their bags scrape down the side. ******.
Remember a lass on the FTO forum getting vengence on an old boy who opened his door on her car though. She saw him and it left a mark. When she challenged him he just said "prove it" and walked off. She merrily donkey kicked his door with her heels on and went on her way.

No respect for others property.
As for dings in car from car doors at supermarkets. Saw a bloke with kid in arms in a 4x4 a few weeks ago put a scrape about 2 foot long in a 07 plate BMW, and he knew he'd done it, he even looked at it, but just walked off into the store. Fortunately for the BM owner the trolley man had seen it as well and obviously went into the store to get the bmw owner, then the 4x4 owner. A mighty arguement then ensued cluminating in the 4x4 driver threatening the trolley bloke and female bmw owner with a range of colourful language (even with his kid present) and ultimately violence. Needless to say the police turned up before mr 4x4 had a chance to drive off as Sainsburys dont tolerate abuse behaviour to staff. Dont know what else happened as the wife came back and we went home.

I saw some fat old bird, who had parked way too close to the car next to her, purposfully whack her car door into the one next to her three times, leaving three massive dents.
I went over to ask her why she had done it and she replied 'cos she had trouble getting out of her car'. i explained this was her fault as she had parked too close and how would she like it if someone did this to her car. All i got was a tirade of insults i didnt expect to come out of the mouth of such an innocent looking 'sweet old grandma' type.
I wasnt having this, so i took down her reg plate, then went and reported it to shop staff in Asda.
I am so careful where i park now, leaving mr car in ANY car park scares the hell out of me.

Once when shopping at Tescos, I returned to my car to find that the fcukwit next to me (far end of car park loads of spaces) had taken a chunk of paint (size of finger nail) off my freshly painted door aghhhhhhh. I was sooooooo upset I lost control of the trolley which sped towards and hit his car smashing his rear light (yeah the trolley was speeding!). I then calmly packed my shopping and went home.

That's one bonus of having a child, parent parking spaces.
If they're all full, i usually park over two spaces.
Anything to stop what you have experienced.

I have to agree with Pete, I've only got to sneeze by my RA & the panels bend.....
seriously though, If I find any vehicle parked by any of my car's regardless if it's my pride & joy, I always check for marks. If a mark has been left by someone opening a door & I can see quite clearly it's the one parked there caused the problem, it get's a size 10 boot in the middle of the door.
Last year I was in Poole visiting friends, we went to the beach along the coast, quite a windy day. I noticed a Porsche Boxter parked up, it looked pretty trick for a Boxter.
All of a sudden, the wind got hold of a car door parked right next to it, couple of oldies out for the day...Bang the door hit the Porsche, it hit it with that much force that the door was wedged & the edge of the door had lodged itself in-beteen the Porsche's door & wing, the old guy could not move his door at all.
Gotta give him credit though, he made great efforts in finding out who's car it was, the Porsche owner wasn't to pleased...however he appreciated the guy's honesty.
The oldies car had to be put on full lock & slightly reversed to remove the door from the Porsche, jeeeeez what damage that caused.....

If I saw somebody hit a car and scarper I always left a note with their details and my name, incase they wanted a witness, on the windscreen of the damaged vehicle, I usually got contacted by 3 or 4 per year

That happened to my Supra except i saw him check and get into his car to drive off. Having knocked on the window he eventually got out and admited it. Reported it to the cops too (he had no id so i wasn't going to take his word) and they were really good.
Got the dent out thanks to dent devils but if i hadn't seen him he'd have driven off. Wind caught his door but that wasn't my problem. We were (legally) parked in a disabled bay too. They'd pulled in a very knackered S plat Suxo because they couldn't be arsed to walk a few extra feet to the door.

Door dings are one thing.....came back to my car the other week and someone had scraped the corner of my rear bumper....now has some nice black marks on it where it has been scraped down to the plastic. I think they tried to drive round the corner past my car, but obviously didn't leave enough room - this was in a practically empty car park!!
Worst thing is, because it's a pre-face lift classic in silver, I can't respray it because of the textured surface under the laquer
That's just another one of the war wounds it's gained in car parks in the last 7 years, and they seem to be getting more and more frequent.

A mate of mine came back to his car in a carpark to find quite heavy damage to the back bumper.
Tucked under the wiper was a note which read:
The people watching me think im leaving you my insurance details but im NOT.
He was quite upset.

I have 2 dents on the side of my black WRX thanks to my neighbours. It's a shared drive so I park as far over on my side as I can but unfortunetly the stupid cow next door can't drive and must judge her parking by how far she is away from mine as she even pulls over partially onto our drive. She's even managed to drive into her own rainwater pipe and rip that away from the wall at the bottom. It really p*sses me off. You feel like putting the boot into hers.

I took two spaces one day.
When I came back out to the car someone had left a note on the back windscreen wiper.
It said "learn to park"
I honestly couldn't believe someone would go to all that trouble to leave a note!

They ought to have given your door a kick for good measure.

No disrespect Bubba actually doesn't look too bad that , do many Subaru's have them? I've never really noticed before.
Sorry to hear all you sad tales guys people really p**s me of sometimes, I don't understand the mentality myself, even when I drove a crp 1.1 Citroen AX (Don't laugh it was my first car...OK laugh it was a bit of a sht tin on wheels ) I've always been careful getting out especially if I parked next to a nice car.
Oh well just another cost of having such a great car I guess, even after getting p****d off at some twt adding yet another dent you cant help but smile at that sweet burble ....that's of the scoob not the twt who's now choking on on the windscreen wiper shoved down his throat.

I agree, the doors are wafer thin, the bonnet on the uglier models is made from aluminium sheet which is also microns thick. This dents when a small stone hits it.
In the Audi the doors are like a bank vault safe doors, they shut with a solid reassuring - thunk - I can park anywhere safe in the knowledge that they will not dent.

All this despite my continued **** parking procedure. no 4x4, no people carrier, no child seats, no dented cars....the list goes on.

I was sitting in my car in Tesco's car park, just about to get out, when a dame in an A4 Audi reversed into my front bumper - hard
I jumped out and waved at her to open her window. She looked at me, shook her head, and drove off
Thing was, I was driving a Volvo 740 estate , complete with Forth Bridge like bumpers. No damage to the Volvo, a feckin great dent in the rear wing of the Audi
