Just save yourselves a shed load of hassle and don't touch Godspeed with a 10ft barge pole.

Had exactly the same experience with Godspeed last year.
Was about to put it down to experience as well but trading standards stepped in and I eventualy got my money back (after 8 months).

So just be carefull, be very carefull.

In (very) quick summary; I ordered a 335 kit plus calipers. It arrived quickly but when fitted the calipers fouled the wheels (yes, Ian knew which wheels I had fitted) so the calipers were returned. They were sent back with the corners filed off and now fitted, however the bolts supplied with the mounting brackets were too long and fouled the discs. So back they went. Another wait but eventually a replacement set of discs and bolts came. On the whole lot went, system bled only to find the calipers leaked. I'd had enough and requested a refund - suddenly no phone replies, replies to email or letter. I packed the whole lot up and returned it with a letter and got zilch. Bye Bye £500+ and a whole load of time. 'Nuff said.

Really doesn't inspire confidence in potential future customers like myself. £500 is far too much to just lose.

How can dropping steel discs or brackets and alloy? bells damage them that much that the couriers send them back? Can't see them bending or snapping in pieces? And how would courier know they had damaged them if they didn't open the parcel ... and BOB had NOT recieved the 2 deliveries to check and return the m...

From what I can gather , he only had bells and brackets , which had been anodised specialy for him which is why it dragged on so long, and as Bob had gone on holiday when they were ready to send , Ian cocked up and sent them to his address not his friends address as he had asked , as no one was in at his address , the couriers attemped to deliver the parcel twice , and then it was sent back as no one was there to receive it ,I guess it must have been dropped or played football with in that time and was damaged, I think that the colours had been scratched

Apparently its not the same as you had , been told that Ian made some Alcon replacements 2 years ago for you , when he was using a slightly smaller disc than the originals , and you didn't like the finish of them , so he offered to supply you AP discs instead ( he offered the 2 types anyway but his were cheaper than the AP's ) but you declined , he was led to believe that special orders didn't have to be refunded as in your case , but trading standards pointed out that the law had changed so you got a refund.

I dont believe Ian was ripping you off as its comes across as he was

I guess that must what they are trying to achieve then , and its working , When Ian was in the unit close to me , I must have fitted around 30 kits for him , everyone fitted perfect , I remember him saying that he has supplied over 1000 kits in the last 8 years or so on scoobies , its just a real shame that a small number of unhappy customers can probably end up ruining a business in a thread like this, well done guys I hope your pleased with yourselfs.

Do a search on all forums and you will find the same issues regardless of car manufacturer, i too had the same problems. Just go in with your eyes open!!

Its not about a witch hunt IMHO its about dealing with reputable companies, i wouldnt want anyone to have to deal with the crap i had to.

The service I got was equally as bad
the missing couriors ,the wrong addresses ....every trick in the book
quoted 3 weeks got them in 12 (to the wrong address)
when I got the second set from him the dam things did not fit !!

Given up on him by now so instead of rejecting them and demanding my money back i re-engineered the bracket and with a bit of faffing about got it fitted

Had one set of replacement discs off him (came without the promised bolts !

and when I heard the old discs were NLA and the new ones required new holes to be drilled (safe ???)
I had had enough and got new discs and bells made from a more secure supply route

The excuse of he is a one man band does not cut it with me

I noticed the last time you were on here you thought the product was good ?? Along with many others

https://www.scoobynet.com/wheels-tyr...-thoughts.html

I quote

third set of discs
second set cracked (not drilled) no Idea why
upgraded to 335 brembo set up no probs apart from a little mucking around to make the kit fit
great brakes good prices but can be difficult to communicate with sometimes

I think its a well know fact that the PCD was changed about 4 years ago to make them better suited for track use

I think I have mentioned more times than I've eaten my connection with him

I bought discs from Godspeed back in 2001 and the service was spot on, even a delayed cheque didn't phase Ian and he sent discs out anyway. I was well impressed.

Due to this, I recently recommended a friend go to him for AP's when he was looking for a big brake upgrade kit for his Scoob. Unfortunately, he had massive delays with Godspeed when he ordered a 6-pot AP Set-up from them for his MY96 WRX... again, parts not being in stock, parts in stock but reserved, wrong parts coming in, no phonecalls back etc... Has left him with a very bitter taste in his mouth regarding Godspeed.

Cheers,
Grant

I know there have been a lot of delays to many suppliers over AP stuff as they cannot keep up with demand , sometimes they are being quoted 16 weeks to supply calipers ,

I have just edited some comments on this thread as some people can not obviously keep emotions out of critisism they make.

As I am sure you will all agree we have not the time to constantly keep our eye on one thread.... especially when the consequences to ScoobyNet could of be a legal nature.

To this end I am now closing this thread.
