Alan when I asked Gorden(Chief Test Driver) why they only put in 95RON he said the the car would run just as good on 95 as it would super unleaded, without any performance loss.
Cheers

I run it on Tesco 99 ron SUL
Your engines are similiar to that of the audi ones, however audi engines are more superior, pushing the latest technology that eventually filters down to the rest of the VAG range.

Audi did stop using the 1.8T for quite sometime, but will again start using it has the engine has had a thorough once over and been dramatically enhanced up to audi class leading, innovation leading, superiority over all other manufacturers.

Nice Motors.

Prefer them to BMW's & Mercs.

Yes; any blind admiration of a brand or similar is pretty wrong in my eyes. No doubt Audio make some okay cars, they also make some dogs. Pretty much the same as any mainstream brand really.

Oh, and you're a troll.

You get out what you put in.

I don't understand why people buy performance cars and scrimp on consumables.

Learned a lesson tonight.

I hate to admit it however, with the price of super going north and, showing no signs of slowing, I filled up with 95 ron for the first time ( apart from the odd time in remote areas, then I'd use octane booster to suppliment it).

On the Dual Carriageway tonight, a Merc Sports Coupe was up my Bottie wanting to have some fun.

I obliged, spun the Turbo & off I went, it stayed with me, then It had a bit of hesitation, and I finally got rid of it. ( the Merc that is)

Now, I posted on here a couple of weeks ago about hesitation, it was because I had reoiled the Sports Filter & the MAF sensor picked up a bit of oil.

Cleaned it off and, noo hesitation at all.

This is the first time I've had a little bit of difficulty in losing one of these.

Back to Super tomorrow!!

Great debate over!

Filled up with V Power today and, on the Motorway late this Afternoon, Mr Clio Sport popped into my ashtray wanting to get even further into the motor.

When the outside lane cleared, off we went, kept up with me for a little bit then, Mr Turbo kicked in, with no hesitation whatsover, good distance between us.

I let him catch up a couple of times and, again kept up for a bit then away.

It was a Black Car, with some F1 transfers down the side, I noticed this as I left the Motorway at my Junction.

All good fun.

Now totally convinced, whatever Porsche does to run on 95, Mr Subaru neds 97 plus to bring out the best in him.

Regards

I split the difference and use tesco's super thats only 97ron. It's only 4p per litre more than the regular 95 ron.

I've driven an imported classic on ordinary fuel for 2 years, since here in malta we don't have super unleaded. I never had any problems with the engine.
My guess is the ecu is smart enough to recognize the type of fuel, so to send the right signals to the engine.

Driving in Malta is like driving in a rally stage everyday, dealing with potholes, corners every 500m, narrow roads, hills, crazy traffic, tarmac/gravel...

That's why I chose a Scooby because it deals with these conditions, however there are no long straights to test out the top speed, but anyways Scoobies are made for acceleration!
