Can you believe how up themselves Evo owners are?

this sorta ****e happens across all forums - i think the nearest comparision to a car someone owns will always be slated from each side.
An example of this was I was a member of the ftooc.org and regular posts used to go out about CTRs (same power standard as GPXs) slating them (i actually think they are a good car). I was a member of the ftooc for 3 years and when I sold it and posted up pics of my newage wrx I didn't get a very good response. I think a lot of stupid people on some forums think they own the best car there is, until they sell it or and afford something better

Hmm! I have noticed that most of the diatribes aimed at evo drivers come from people on here with very few posts! What's up guys do you only have small gonads, and slagging off other people makes them grow? If you have owned any other cars apart from an impreza, which is probably your first "performance saloon" hence the lack of posts! then, perhaps you might have the right to chastise the owners of these cars. Speaking from experience of owning a standard bugeye, (my current diesel would leave it for dead once rolling) and a PPP classic (a very decent and quick motor) An evo V and an evo VIII both standard apart from a de-cat pipe, then I'm sorry to have to rain on your parade but, unless you have a seriously modified impreza you wouldn't see see which they went down any country lane.....FACT!!!!. As for slagging subarus, I still use an evo forum and have done for 2-3 years just as I still use scoobynet. There is a small minority on there, as there is on here (otherwise I wouldn't be writing this) that do slag off other cars, but the majority just enjoy the banter that exist between owners of very similar rally bred road cars. Just because you have read one or two post on a forum you don't use regularly, doesn't mean every evo owner hates every impreza owner. Wake up and smell the air..............................it smells of DERV!!!!

Evos, like Scooby's are fairly tinny Japanese 4 door saloons, it's hardly something get get all superior about is it?
We drive them because there're fun not because of looks or badge values.
Anyway given what I've read on MLR, next time I see an Evo I won't wave, instead I will bow down in reverence

We often have some MLR guys come along to our local meets and they're all a decent bunch.
If someone wants to be an anally rententive dick whilst driving there car - well.. thats hardly the sole domain of Evo drivers is it? I tend to acknowledge most performance car drivers in some way - be it just being nosy and looking at their car, nod, wave, random conversations at V-Power pumps (which happens way too often!)
Hardly grounds for slagging off a particular make - and if its the same thread that was posted before on here - many of the MLR members tell the OP to stop being an idiot as well

To think inferior, you must first be in-secure.
If they say its better.. good on them, if we say it.. shame on us. I just wish it was as easy to pick when they are put head to head in a privately funded race.. because everything that i have seen with most of these cars put head to head has ended with the result being pretty random. (Inlcuding Lightweight variants of these cars and their Heavier fully loaded counterparts..).
Pick a number, and put ur chips down... its all the same.

Its the MMSDC that really get on my t1ts..
(Morris Marina Sporting drivers club)
...they never wave and they are always slagging off Scoob/Evo/GTiR/[your car here] owners.
...just because they have 'real velour' seats.
*****..
....come on lads

My dad wanted to get me a Morris Marina for my first car way back when. It was a lovely 1980 model, one pensioner owner. It gave me nightmares just looking at the thing.

Wasn't it two EVO's that went 'pop' at Donningyon time attack last week.
talk about chocolate pistons
Seriously though met a couple of people who were on the MLR stand and not one slagged off my Scoob.
Nice enough people

Isn't it the case that a lot of the ire on the part of the Subaru owners is that they feel they have an inferior car?
Have no idea what the EVO drivers problem is, if I was him I'd just wave back and carry on on my smug little way..............

Ive got a scoob, my mates got an evo and we have a bit of banter about the rivalry for a joke, but at the end of the day we respect and like each others cars. I think the difference is some people can distinguish between a joke and reality and others can't.
I personally like them both.

i think the Lancer and Impreza are both fantastic. go fast..4 doors for the kids...pretty cheap. what more could you ask for. i think that both of these cars came into the world and pretty much ripped the sports car market a new arsehole. they are still 2 of the best performance cars to hit the roads in terms of handling and power for the price.
looking back though at the original lancer reg posters thread..it would seem that the subaru owner probably couldn;t have given a rats *** if the woman in the evo was driving a saxo forte..he probably just fancied his chances at giving her a wave because he thought she was a bit tasty
old mr insecure is probs gonna have a heart attack when he realises that one!!

waves for scoobys, thumbs up for Evos. get a 50/50 reaction from evos but they've always been good![Smile](images/smilies/smile.gif)
i love both cars to be honest and probably would have gone for one if my current scoob hadn't popped up.
never had a reply from a skyline though
(which i also love
)

Am I missing something, but the comments on the Evo forum also included Evo drivers critisising other Evo drivers for their negative opinions about Impreza owners.
Conclusion...there are a few ********* on the Evo site as there are on this site. They are bound to give their two peneth on such a thread. I don't think I can generalise about what an Evo driver is from this thread, so hardly take offence from it. Its a laugh and should be taken in that spirit.
Lets face it, the Evo is a far better handling car in standard guise (from what I read), but sounds like a nova with a big exhaust and requires more services. Based on these facts, I bought an Impreza because I love the burble sound.
Without differing opinions, how could these forums survive ?
LOL

i owned a evo4 and an evo6, now have a STI... love them all really.. nothing wrong with a bit of harmless banter, just some of the evo/subaru members are very much ****s and cowards in real life, with inferiority complexes. like someone posted earlier in the thread they're not exactly mclaren f1 material like some would think... people need to get over themselves, grow up, and enjoy their cars!
whats the big deal!!

You're quite right, I came across this link on the mlr & I have to say you guys whinge like ****. I wave at scoobs & I drive an evo VII that doesn't make me better than you it just means I chose the evo over the alternative. They are both good cars imho
