There shall in that time be rumors of things going astray, erm, and there shall be a great confusion as to where things really are, and nobody will really know where lieth those little things with the sort of raffia-work base, that has an attachment. At that time, a friend shall lose his friend's hammer, and the young shall not know where lieth the things possessed by their fathers that their fathers put there only just the night before, about eight o'clock.

Thanks for clearing that up DCI. All in all that's a reasonable description of it all except that I have never minded having the **** taken in an amusing way and would laugh myself at that anyway. I obviously do not think that of the original post though. It seemed to me to be deeper than that.

Strange business about the "hanger on" who contributed nothing of value to the discussion though.

Please Read Original Post.
Are you Christian then??? (Reading first post??). If that is a pre-requisite..

I haven't actually written down what religion I am, have i?:

I commented on the fact that this country is more tolerant than others.
I commented that this countries most popular religion is IS Christian (Or CofE, to be really accurate). But NOT paganism (been past stonehenge, its very small).
I commented I don't go to church unless im dead, getting married, or someone else is.

The rest is what you have assumed.

If you can print up a full list of the options, ill pick one.

And Karl, NO, not aimed at you. But you DO have a high post count????

Which Christians do you know who worship "Allah"?

Number one is when you claim to be a good christian (Parish Vicar) and when the windows of you church get put in by local yobs (Norfolk) you get the police onto the kids just arrived from London (Me & my brothers & sister) to visit their grandad with not a shred of evidence they had been anywhere near your ******* church.

The church is full of hypocritical tossers without the ability to think for themselves.

I agree wholeheartedly with that Jasey, but did his religion tell him to blame you and your siblings? Or was it just his own idea!

If he'd done the right thing it would have been at Gods hand, he does the wrong thing and its either Gods will or his own Idea.

Thats one of the biggests problems I have with religion, it makes no sense

I can understand what you say Pimmo, but you have to look at the circumstances. In the first place, being a priest does not make him incapable of making a human error. He is a representive of his religion but he is still a human being. His learning should mean he is an expert in his religion's teachings but it does not magically save him from human mistakes any more than anyone else.

He was obviously highly pissed off at the broken window and allowed his personal feelings to overrule good sense and he blamed the wrong people unfairly. Priests are just as likely to be prey to temptation as anyone.

I just can't bring myself to believe in an all power, someone who has given so much pain to good people.

I've had a lot of pain in my life, which is why I'm such a tit, but its not even a touch on what some people have suffered and it annoys me when people blame God for the good things and not the bad.

I dont doubt the power of belief and I think if you've got a strong enough mind to believe then thats great, but lifes taught me to be hard and I've never had any help from "God" or Jebus

Those who accept that there is a God and follow a religion usually regard life as a test for what happens to your soul in the hereafter. Life is not supposed to be easy in such a case, All the tribulations are there by design and maybe to see who are those who are unselfish enough to help others in their distress, or how they cope with their own troubles. Like you, I know what it is like to suffer pain and worry too.

This is meant as an explanation of the thinking, not in an effort to convert you!

I will say however that if life was so easy that we had to do nothing to help or protect ourselves, it would be so boring that we would soon be topping ourselves. One only has to look at the lives of the extremely rich to see how much happiness their money brings to them.

Les
