depending on where you are reading from the bible, as i said it doesnt always mean a literal day.
IMO thats why many read someting in the bible and then draw the wrong conclusion as they havent done enough background research into it.
This is not an interpretation I've come across before. I certainly know a Presbyterian minister that would disagree with you, and I have my doubts that he's failed to spot the text to which you refer. Seems more like trying to interpret based on what we now know, rather than giving words their intended meaning.

But the evening and morning are clearly referenced in Genesis, it refers to a normal day, it's not open to interpretation.

2 peter 3:8. have a read and you will see what im saying. not all verses are meant to be taken literally in the bible. the "day" issue is just one of them.

It seems quite clear that writers of the bible intended it to be 'gospel', as they had no understanding of how things really worked, and so this seemed real to them.

I refer the honourable gentleman to my earlier quote..........

Come on, what's what?

Also, if a day is thousands of years, then Adam is thousands of years old, and the bible says he lived to be over 900

a day "can be" a thousands years, i never said it "is" a thousand years. as i said, depending on where you are reading from depends on how the term "day or years" etc is to be taken.

.........by the way, thankyou for refering to me as an honourable gentleman

Flippin 'eck, variable timeframes in the Bible now are there?

I do hope at least some waverers see this for the farce it obviously is, or is faith SO blind that all this is irrelevant?
