LJP - General Chat

It's not complaining, its a support that were providing
Ricardo told me that it is taking a long time as there has been no pressure to complete it, well now there is.
Tolster,
Good luck with your card, you pay the money to get the card that gets you the Carnetix discount etc. and then get told that it is in the queue behind creating the website sounds like excuses from a lazy man

Me -Web development, graphics and flyers. I hope to produce a welcome pack for new members.
Gaz -In charge of equipment, such as the banner and hopefully arrange for the future club merchendise (stickers & t-shirts)
Wolfie -Events organiser
Andy -Arranging club discounts for existing and new suppliers
Wanted
Club treasurer (no pirate jokes please) to look after club funds. When we produce t-shirts, stickers etc its going to be a nightmare keeping track of money etc. I dont mind if its run from a petty cash tin or a bank account. I have already got some basic account balance sheets to be used on excel.
What are your thoughts?

Just booked in for my first visit to Carnetix to have the gauges that have been sat in my garage for 6 months fitted Already arranged to have my LJP discount deducted from the total and can't wait to get over there next week, I just get a feeling it could be an expensive trip as after following the Tolster to coningsby I have decided I need more power. Just don't tell the wife

I cannot even give myself time at the minute and work has a really bad habit of getting in the way.
My thoughts are get the foundations first, it's all in the planning..... just ask Paula, I drive her mad at times
It goes something like this ......
Step 1 - Set up a steering committee
The Steering Committee should consist of people who will carry out essential organisational tasks i.e. Chairman/Secretary, Treasurer and a small number of others (possibly two), and act as the Management Committee until the first Annual General Meeting of members.
It is important to start by laying down aims, objectives and a strategy of the proposed club.
Step 2 - Decide or consider
1. Where and how often to meet.
2. How to raise funds and meet expenses.
3. Relevant safety regulations.
4. How members will be recruited.
5. The date of the first A.G.M. and the agenda.
Step 3 - Establish the club constitution or rules.
Basic guidelines for key areas to be considered:-
1.Name
LJP (Lincolnshire Japanese Performance)
2.Objects
The objects of the club are ..........................e.g. 'mutual friendship', 'recreation for the benefit of the community'.
3. Eligibility & Terms of Membership
a) Membership is available to .................... e.g. anyone, car owners etc.
b) Only fully paid-up members are entitled to vote.
e) Subscriptions should be paid ................... e.g. annually, one off, on joining etc.
f) Members are/are not required to pay a joining fee.
4.MANAGEMENT COMMITTEE
The Management Committee consists of those elected at the A.G.M. for an agreed term and the minimum number required at any one meeting (quorum) to render decisions valid.
The Committee will meet ........................... e.g. once a month and has the power to appoint sub-committees for specific functions e.g. social, fund-raising, house, special events.
All club business is directed by this committee other than matters when a full vote at an A.G.M. is required under the club rules.
5.SUBSCRIPTIONS
The annual / one off ?? subscriptions should be determined by the Management Committee in agreement with the Treasurer.
6.MEETING OF THE CLUB
A.G.M. - Annual General Meeting shall be held in .................... (month) of each year. The date and time of the A.G.M. shall be notified to each member ............. days in advance of the meeting. The initial A.G.M. should agree a minimum number of members (quorum) to be in attendance before the meeting is recognised. A special/extraordinary/general meeting can be called at any time when all members shall have full voting rights.
7. CHANGES IN CONSTITUTION
The rules of the club may be amended by the agreement of a 2/3 (or as agreed) majority of the members present at the A.G.M.
8. DISSOLUTION
The club can be dissolved with the agreement of 2/3 (or as agreed) of those paid up members present and voting at the A.G.M. .
Following the agreement of the appointed Trustees the club shall take appropriate action to convert any assets into money and pay off debts. The use of the remaining finances should be indicated.
These points will provide a basic framework for the club but do not cover all matters, for example, rights of guests, settlements of disputes etc.
Once the constitution and management committee are set up, we will have the basis of how the club organisation will function. Then we will be in the position to move forward.

There is nothing wrong with being organised, I struggle with things that are not planned and arranged.
Oh and I too vote for the website

Alright mate. I'm from Grantham. As Rob said our next meet is to the east coast mecca that is Skeg Vegas on July 13th. Myself and a couple of the lads will be running over from Grantham to Newark for a mini meet then convoying from there over to the main meet point. You are more than welcome to join us just drop me a PM if you want to join our mini convoy to the meet point. The LJP is a friendly club who meet up once a month for a beer and a general chat, and to generally rip the pi$$ out of Richardo on this and the other LJP threads. Check out the June meet thread to see the sort of things we try to organise. That's the club promotion bit over, I drive a silver bug with a GAZ plate so if you see me round town give me a wave and I'm always happy to pull over for a chat. Very nice car by the way I wish I had a classic

Rich,
Serious for once
How far have you got with the website?
I have just got some software and I am going to start to learn how to put a page together and I am willing to get this done for our site.
It will take me around 1 week to get one that would be acceptable, even by my standards, whilst I learn more tricks to further polish it up. The only part that I dont know and would need help with is how you get it on a server / host, do we have one? what needs to be done to load onto / update the page etc??
LJP'ers
What I would need from the rest of you guys is some picture/s of your cars and information such as model, year, mods etc. One of the pics must be capable of being reduced in size to approx 150x150 as this one will link into a seperate page with the rest of the pics and the details that you supply.
Rich,
Have you got any LJP graphics that you want on the site?
Could also do with the text that is on the LJP banner for the front page.

Maybe we will find out your first name
Just learnt how to do roll over pics where the picture changes when you put the curser over it. My unofficial LJP website is looking pretty good already

i think rob doing the site is a great idea ricardo can now focus on the ethos of LJP and we can hold the AGM vote for each position etc.
then we will be set up and run 100% correctly also maybe give ricardo a chance to take the pi$$ back outa rob

Right fellas this is the situation. I have saved for the last three months so I can join LJP and I have PM'd Ricardo and just awaiting further instructions. Will my membership card be here by April 2010? Its just tax goes to £455 then and I may have to sell
