ah well modified nationals next month are a no go shall have to wait for the scoob to be repaired before any more car shows, although after a respray, should look with a coat of autoglym. just a case of waiting now, and taking everything on the chin

no one to go with.... not a member of a car club, well only Revvdup.com, but they have spaceship bodykitted cars owed by teenagers that any self respecting subaru owner would surely shun.

your not on about the pillock who cant park now are you? you on about the guy in his *gulp* green rover who t-boned me. nah, was upset, but the cars repairable, was clearly his fault, and his insurers will fork out for his neglegent driving. im not playing the whiplash card, as im a honest decent enough short fat balding bloke. as long as my car gets repaired to an excellent standard, i have no "beef" with this guy.

as said, the a$$hole two doors down who also owns a rover (repetitive thing here with rovers) can wait for another day. nail under his tyre, pay some kid £20 to key his car.... lots of ideas. hes too old to use the interent, and would only be on oldgrannies.net: The Leading Grandparents Site on the Net anyway

dunno. cant really go into too much detail because of the insurance issues. but his front bumper detached itself and was hanging on by the inner plastic arch thing. front n/s wing fubared, as is his n/s headlamp. scratches, scuff etc. cars not worth much either 11-12 years old.

im very confident, as is jason at scoobybits. i think the guy who collided with me would be daft to try swap liability, as when he hit me glass went everywhrre off his headlamp. my cars damage is all down the side. so when the police take notes of the incident and put 2+2 together. quite simple.

Contact an accident management firm, they will sort you a hire car tomorrow, just tell them the car doesnt drive the ay it used to. Suspected suspension damage you will not be expected to drive yours, and why should you.

They dealt with a non fault accident of mine a few years ago and were great.

appreciate that, and will keep updated on this thread.

jason is gonna sit down and work out a rough quote for the insurers. ive not even sorted out reference numbers etc with my insurers regards claiming from him, so jase is really on the ball. probably for a quick resolution.

Another thing, Scoobybits may quote you for second hand parts, insurance companies will not accept this and will want quoting for new. This will increase the quote by miles.

Unless of course they are flexible with their paperwork there

nah, jase has always dealt with second hand parts, if that what you want. but he buys in new stuff too, like the alloy group buys and things like that. when he did all my brakes, he bought in new discs pads etc. the guy is that daddy, and i dont trust anyone else as much with my car.

another update. rung up my insurers today. i had two choices. i either claim on my insurance and then they claim off his insurance for the repairs etc, or i claim directly off his insurers for which i have no policy details etc.

so i deceided to keep it simple as poss. claiming on my insurance against his, as it was his fault and he has no leg to stand on in my and my insurers eyes.

couldnt believe it when they said i was entitled to a hire car even though im getting the repair work done at a garage of my choice - ie scoobybits.

so i had a choice of a 3.0 peugeot, a 2.5v6 vectra, a green rover 414 (lol joke), or a vauxhall signum. said i dont need anything that big, id rather have a little sporty hatch.

apparantly they would have given me a brand new scoob as a hire car, but id have to justify the expence to his insurers lol. cant be doing with the hassle, so im gonna go for a 4 seat hatch, to get my mrs and her mates to work, and the shopping in the boot.

they will even drop the car off at scoobybits for me to save hassle on my part. very helpful , and everything is going on his insurance!!!

just got to sort out a repair date.

hope so, just dont want any hassle on his insurers part. very simple to see whos at fault for all of this, just a case if they stick the boot in and try claim something different happened.

but the fact he has no front bumper and i have a car resembling a prawn cracker on the drivers side suggests 2+2 should be added together on this one.

be wary tho, just cause he`s a "friend" dont mean he wont mix mash his owrds, are you claiming directly from his insurance, not ur own fully comp then getting it back, if ur going thru his, expect a good few weeks/month wait !

unless he`s 110% yep yep yep my fault my fault etc.

im claiming off my insurance who are in turn seeking expenses and re-emburesment from his insurers. on my side i have the police. when they were called out to clean up the road after the cars were moved, they would have seen from the damage on the road what had gone on.

you realise u still need to pay ur excess etc.

good luck with it all.........
