Kinda bugs me when you hear of these things - I've had an accident, and although didn't admit it to the other driver, when I called my insurance company I simply put my hands up and said "sorry, it was my fault".
Its a pain in the backside - but maybe I just feel my personal integrity is more important than a few quid.
My mum has a blatently fraudulent claim against her fought against by her insurance company at the moment - I just can't stand dishonest, lying, idiototic individuals with no integrity.
Just hope that the other guy has some integrity and everything gets sorted out for you fairly quickly.

mr rig, i shouldnt have to pay anything on my part, as the accident is 100% his fault. if my insurers want a £500 excess they can claim that on his insurance too. if i was to blame id happily stump it up, but im not so i wont.
no assumptions needed, was his fault, and its easily proveable by the damage to both cars.
i heard a team leader at my job saw the accident or at least the aftermath before both cars were moved so if needs be il use him as witness. if he can spread the word and gas off to anyone that will listen on my night off, he'll gladly reproduce his version of events in writing im sure!
