The fact he did not get out off the car is he did not think that, he was probably sh** scared. Some people think they are the best thing behind a wheel. If Paddi70 would have done anymore he would be locked up now and the little sh** would be laughing all the way to the bank. A bitch slap is enough some times.

Ok, maybe shouldn't have done it, but we're all human - and for most of us that means we have a temper and see the "red mist" when riled !

Apparently when we're in a car we expect a much bigger "personal space" around us, hence when someone tailgates us it's a bit like someone standing eyeball to eyeball in a pub, spoiling for a fight !

Understandable when you think of it like that !

at next set of lights the bloke in the mondeo got out and went upto the young lads window. he jumped out and smacked the bloke, knocked him to the floor got back in his car and tried to reverse over him and then shot off.

Well as luck has it he was a copper (cid) to cut it short i ended up making a statement as a witness!!

Bet he thought "OH **** NOW"

I think you were bang on m8. they think they are damon hill as soon as they get in the car and start the engine. they dont care about any other road users and when they come across a car with power its a red rag to a bull. like i said in my previous post he didnt no this bloke was a copper but he didnt wait to find out b4 givin hom a good lashin!!!!

I say fair play for slapping him. Any one who drive dangerously deserve it.

I enjoy crusing in my baby as the powers there when i need it. Iv allready had a couple of people trying it on (Corsa's, Astra's, ect ect) but just wavered it off as it isnt worth the petrol or wear in tear. But thats my opinion lol.

I'm happy to stand corrected, but merely by posting what happened (IE you assaulting someone) on a public forum is an admit ion of guilt.

If he was serious about prosecution all he needs to do is point the police to this thread.

I'd have slapped him too!! Pratt! Its the young ones who think they own the roads. Fed up of the amount of 'boy racers' in their corsa's and saxos - usually 1.2 engines thinking they own the road. Iv only owned my Subaru for 8 months and noticed a lot more idiots trying to race me.

Im a young woman with 2 children in the car - get a grip!! lol

It's quite funny reading the posts by others who also said they would've slapped him. Very easy to say when your sitting behind a keyboard. A bit different when your actually there at the scene. Probably the kind of people who slap someone they think they could 'do' but then **** themselves with someone else who may be a bit feistier and actually be up for a fight.

The lad probably deserved a slap no question.

I'm 34 now and don't let the road rage thing get under my skin so much these days. In my 20's, the red mist often descended. What made me think about it was getting into a tear up (usual stuff, lad pulls out on me nearly causing an accident then calls ME a w**ker -down comes the mist) both pulled up at a roundabout, saw him getting out, opened my drivers door, swung right leg out, looked up again to see him appearing round the front of his bonnet with a baseball bat. Leg swung back in, door shut, off I went.
In some ways it makes you more angry that the spineless ***** has got out with a weapon and what you actually want to do is ram his own baseball bat down his throat. But if in the event your ***** aren't as big as your adrenaline and testosterone filled brain thinks they are, you end up in casualty (at best). Sadly the bat could just as easily have been a knife. Its just not worth it.
The same week a female friend 'gesticulated' at some blokes who had pulled out on her. In her naievity she hadn't realised it was a flatbed transit full of pikeys and had to sit in the car unable to drive away cos of traffic while they smashed the hell out of it around her. Registration was taken but it was a waste of time as lawless f***in pikeys like that often have no fixed address, no insurance, no mot, and the vehicle isn't registered to them anyway.

I have a young son now and he's the most important thing in the world to me. Won't have someone tell him he hasn't got a Dad anymore because some bloke couldn't drive, daddy couldn't help geting in an argument, but the other fella had a knife and daddy didn't.

Point is if you turn the other cheek when something kicks off you'll get home angry and wound up that you didn't make the a***hole look stupid and give him what he deserved. But at least you'll get home and in one piece. The red mist will fade.

Not to sure a slap is justified really. I agree with you, little w@nkers in **** cars wanting to race you all the time gets on your t*ts, but would you have slapped him if you didn't know they guy? I certainly wouldn't slap another driver for driving like a c**t, I'm not the plod at the end of the day - if the guy wants to drive like a dick, it's his licence & car at risk - who didn't drive like a clown at 19??? To be honest, if I was the kid i'd be out shopping for brake fluid about now!

I picked my spec D up on Saturday (my 1st Subaru), limited to 4000 revs for the 1st thousand miles, already VERY aware of ********* in GTO's, Rover Turbos, various other pritt stick cars, sitting 2 inches from my bumper trying to goad me into stepping up the pace.
It may be my more mature attiude (42) but really don't feel the need to "prove" myself (or the new car).

Next time hit him harder!!

Follow it up with: if you think that hurts imagine how it'd feel for a pedestrian to get hit by a speeding **** mobile!

I can see how this can wind people up, but think about it. Instead of 'bitch-slapping' him, you could have quietly walked up and said, 'Drive like that again and i'll cut your b*llocks off and put them in a jar. I'll then give them back to you when you're old enough to use them.'
Worked wonders when the exact same thing was said to me when I was seventeen!
