for the record i have no problem with the muslims that do not try to kill me or blow me up.
i an not being sarcastic either, for that will get me points as well..

Afghanistan, on the other hand, I think is fantastic - minus the bullets and suicide bombings of course. If the country ever returned to how it was prior to the soviet invasion, I'd love to go backpacking there.

Iraq does indeed suck - the place is an utter dump to be frank. I think we should hand power to someone who can keep a firm hand on the tiller, keep all the various factions in line and prevent civil war by strong, focused leadership concentrating on the integrity of the Iraqi state.... wonder if Sadda.. bugger.

The thing I find disgraceful is that the UK and US politicians (and public) are saying that we have to pull out now, without any regard to how that will leave the innocent cilivilians in the country.
For whatever reason it was strarted, legal or illegal (although I fail to see how a war can ever be legal), the fact is that we are ultimately resonsible for the mess over there. To pull out now would be completely irresponsible, and without the protection offered by the UK and US troops, how many more innocent people are going to be killed, and how many of them will turn into "terrorists" or become sympathetic to the terrorist cause after being abandoned to their fate.

Having been party to starting the conflict in Iraq it would be morally wrong to desert the place and leave it to split in a murderous situation with Iran moving in when the time was right.
As you say, a terrible situation brought about by the two prats in control for their own selfish reasons against all the good advice from informed advisers.
