It must work for seagulls since most of the "Yachties" use them around here. Whether it works for other birds is impossible for me to say.

Think i'd rather have the crap on my fence than those spikes! LG's idea had crossed my mind but i reckon the jangling would get on my **** just as much


And now they seem intent on digging my newly seeded lawn too

String up some fishing line along the top of the fence about 6" above - that WILL stop them landing

Duncan, can you vouch for this method? or am i likely to walk outside to find a line of dead birds hanging from it?

Well ive seen it,allbeit with bits of material sometimes tied to the line everyso often, on various boats down here and seen no dead gulls so.....

Im fairly sure ive seen this used in allotments also,but i stand to be corrected

Old dvd or cd discs flashing in the light will also put them off if you string them along the line above the fence.

Put some mesh type netting over the seed until it sprouts into grass, Kevvy-wev...

Go to your local gardening emporium - they should stock something which would work
