Scaling back today. Longer it goes on the more it will start to look like a Ben Needham type case

I think it's an abduction to order case. Certainly wasn't spur of the moment or opportunistic.

He/she has obviously staked the place out, knew where the parents were, knew there was no babysitter and knew the kids were alone in the room. They have also seemingly managed to disappear into thin air with no sitings or screams of a child etc, although the ineptitude of the Portuguese probably hasn't helped.

For a paedo to do this would be pretty determined and would also mean he had a suicidal tendancy because once caught he'd be locked up for good, so not much of a benefit to him when they could probably groom local girls. And do paedos generally murder children?
