I must be getting paranoid as I had someone from Orange phone me tonight asking for my Bank details over the phone in order to set up a direct debit - that was OK wasn't it?

I've only sold 1 car privately and i made sure the money was transferred to my account before i handed over the keys.

I met him at a pub as it was easier to meet him there, gave him a test drive back to my house and bartered a deal.

He offered cash, i said no ta i'll have it transferred to my account please.

If cash is payed into the account and the cashier doesn't recognise if being counterfeit but it later turns out it is,you aint got a leg to stand on i'm afraid.

It's a tough one,but you've got to have a bit of trust on both sides.
