thanks for the reply, just didnt know if anyone had experience with the kwik fit ones, and if they were easy to install and hide away.

Not interested in the other stuff people have said, more about practicality, and if there was any similar sets that easy to use?

Does anyone know of a seat protector a bit easier to live with than a bar?

Define best ...... or does best in this instance mean most expensive with the biggest snob value attached to them?

There are plenty of guys making the same as those mention but for less money

Cant people just answer a question, give views and if they dont have anything related to the question then not bother?

I appreciate the information on safety areas etc. but i didnt ask for people opinions on when and if they should be used, and on what seats, i just asked if people used any, and the experiences they have had!

Reading tons of sites and repeating what others say isnt experience, its knowledge, theoretical in many instances. SN has too many PC Warriors that sit at home spouting rubbish out!

Okay dude,

I have no experience of Schroth.. i know plenty of guys in Germany that use them in race cars.
I have 3" TRS magnum ultralites with the ally adjusters and i love em. My car get regular use on street, track and the ring. They take a little longer to do up everytime you get in and out of the car but the added secuirty they provide and allow me to sit still is well worth the agro.

Does that help?

cheers mate!

not aimed at you at all, more the others on page 1, who felt i needed education on them. I got the impression that people had guessed i was doing it for image, and then went on to tell my why i shouldnt be using them and also how normal seat belts are fine.

Some people on here want to force their opinions on others, which when you get the chav comment of "best DV" i can understand, but this is scoob number 3 and i am getting them to aid to use with my MSA car club activities.

If i want to know pro's v con's i would have asked!

Thanks for the advice matey, just venting frustration at those who take threads off topic and go on and on about nothing!

Without getting into the argument about combining harnesses/seats/cages etc, let's be honest here seatbelt webbing is all pretty much identical in construction. Look at two different manufacturers 3" belts and they will be the same just different colours. 2" webbing is often the same weave as standard seat belts, which incidentally are often made as OEM by firms that make racing harnesses. And yes, Sparco are just rebranded Sabelt.

Go with any of the big names and you can't go wrong. I've personally used both 2" and 3" Sabelt harnesses in the past and can't complain. As far as Schroth goes, I may be talking out of my **** here, but weren't they the ones to invent the HANS system, hence their name being known is not so much down to a long racing pedigree as say Sabelt, Willans etc, but because HANS is widely used nowadays.

It's like seats. I'd rather have a cheap Recaro than a top of the line Corbeau. With safety equipment you get what you pay for. I'd rather have an Arai helmet than my crappy HSL that I got from a scooter shop for £50.

Another thing is that different makes fit differently. Some are snug and comfy with great adjustment range, yet others that look the same feel totally wrong and you just can't get them to fit properly. It's really worth trying a set out before you buy, if you can.

I use a 6 point securon. I would suggest these are the same as any other manufacturers 3'' belt and so far have been easy to use. As to how good they are I dont know and hopefully I will never have to find out.

Gary, its been quite a while since Ive either fitted restraints into a car, or even used them. When I last looked both Willans and Sabelt both had the best fit and, more importantly, the easiest to operate fastening (as well as a comforting reputation).
