lol at this one:- (taken from website)

speed=97.4 limit=70 type=Vascar 2 mile chase, then instant 3 points, £60 fine 22/M Vauxhall Nova 2.0 16v (171bhp)

makes you think though ... its easy to have a quick blast to 110+ on an open road, in the early hours, and i'm sure there are many people on here who have done it...

the poor bloke got caught and wants advice, thats all.

i'd say 30day ban if lucky, 12 months if not lucky.

also budget for £300 + fine.

my advice would be to sell the car, to prove you are willing to make a sacrafice, and beg like **** for your livlihood (sp).

also, have a bath, good shave, wear a suit and tie, and try and use proper, remorseful english in court

good luck

Dazza

125mph in a performance car is nothing.

All the PC brigade have forgotten that they brake the speed limit all the time.

If the road was lightly trafficked, the road was dry, you weren't driving all over the road, then the speed could be seen as safe, for the circumstances.

We drive performance cars which mean the accelerate, handle and brake better than most other cars.

Unlucky mate.

If you get a 1 month ban, take a sicky off work. They might never need to know.

unlucky mate.......ignore those that just slate you mate......bet they couldn't honestly put there hands up and say they aint pushed there car to the near limits at some stage....You just got unlucky.

Is this you first motor offence???

if it is don't always believe what others say that your gonna get a ban.

get yourself a very good solicitor.....have a look at some way of making the courts know that your really sorry and it was a one off, and you have taken a course on speeding etc.....

Its all down to showing remorse mate... and making a change.

"ha ha, you going to jail, and maybe you will get bum'ed hard"

What complete idiot wrote this?

I must duplicate what The Chief said as this is unfortunate but everyone on this website, without exception, has exceeded the speed limit at some point.

It's ok mate don't feel low, i clicked on straight away... job...paint job.

Looks like us too are just too quick for the average on here

I'm pretty sure that everyone on here speeds regularly, whether it be in a 30, 40, 50, 60 or 70, to some degree. Maybe the odd one sticks to the rules, (but then why do they have a scoob?!) And not to say everyone, but most, will have floored their car when newish, or every once in a while. The ONLY difference is that most of us weren't caught!!!

So give the guy a break! He ****ed up BIG time by getting caught and now feels soooo ****!!! It's the chance you take, and you think it'll be ok, but for this time at least, it wasn't. Just be glad you were caught by the cops instead of having a blowout...

Driving fast is naughty, but people do... It's not right, and 125 is silly, but looooooads of members here have been at least that fast, they just got away with it!

I currently work for the IT side of a government department that deals with the processing of speeding, parking, etc fines. This part of the department is recieving the most budget attention as they belive it's on the increase and worthy of investment.

DOn't for one minute think it's about law and order! It's about money!!! Most politicians are in it to serve themselves! "Money is a root of all evil" <-- proper quote.

We like to think it's law and orde and sleepy British Citizens are willing to accept 80+% tax on fuel, council tax, MOT, Road tax (most of which does not go on the roads), congestion charging, toll charge, insurance premium tax, Tax from your pay, NI tax and if you do manage to save you are taxed on the money that has already been taxed. If you manage to buy a house you pay tax on that money again, VAT and if you die your children are taxed on the money you have been taxed on at least twice to help push them up on the ladder.

They will collect a fine from you because they can, they will continue to collect fines from those 'normally' law abinding citizens because they can that includes most of us on here. SO I'm sorry but expect the worse but I wish you the best.

Get a good Solicitor
The vital for work thing can work
I got my boss to turn up to the ....and kept my licence
Big fine - points(but kept my licence)

We all do some thing stupid sometimes
If it was an empty road - unlucky
If it was a busy road - well then you shouldn´t be driving.

Good Luck anyway

Get yourself a good Illegal immigrant.
You can pay him £7.50 a day to chaffeur you round for your work, and Double time of £15 a night to sleep under your Scooby to keep an eye on it.
And as you won't get tired from all that driving you will be able to work some extra hours to make up his (Or preferable her) wages.

and that's really going to help.

i hope it does work out and you've learnt your lesson, your sphincter should be twitching like a bunnie's nost right now. However a fair few have asked for (and not recieved) details on what did you (camera etc) if you replied sensibly perhaps some people might be able to provide more help.

then he should have done his training.

depends if he followed you or just clocked as you flew past. the second will be easier to introduce "an element of doubt" to.

Right

im not entierly sure how you have been done now mate.

VASCAR, totally undetectable system as all it uses is a calibrated speedo a stop watch, a red button and a white one.
They see you speeding, the pick a point on the road, (can be those white squares that are so familiar) when they see your car go over it, they hit the red button, when they go over it, they hit the white one.

Next is they do the same thing usualy 1/3 of a mile later. they see you pass another square, they hit the red one, they pass the same they hit the white one

speed = distance / time............ your knicked, on come the lights.

that system of course has to be done rolling

was the copper moving or stationary, im not to sure what you have been looking at, was it like a TV screen, could it have been the end clip of a video?

Cant you see the inherient flaw in this? It's a human pressing a button! who's to say he clicked it too fast, etc? He would have to relie on a camera showing his finger pressing the button showing the car going over the whiteline/marker/whatever .. Was the camera rigged, etc....

well i was in a similar position to you a year ago . duel carrageway 1.20 am after dropping the ex girlfrend off , had a bit of fun on the way home and
booted it got done by a unmarked police car . on the report i was clocked @
115mph for an average speed over a 2mile distance (this is the short version),
anyway in court no messing about held my hands up (speeding is an absolute offence no if's or but's) i'd looked into it and the posibility of getting a very good solicitor but decided against this action , on reflection this FOR ME was the best possible out come , on the day in court there must have been 8 people with solicitors trying to get them off their speeding charges , it
must have pissed them off because the penalties they issued to these people were a bit high . in my case 6 points £300 fine.

hope this helps rbs.

officers are trained in the VASCAR system and they are expected not to cheat and of course we all know they would never do a thing like that

Fact is, you would have to go before a magistraite in order for your licence to be revoked. There will be prosecution and defense, you will be stood there, the accused, in a court sometimes known as the police court, and you will be up against 2 if not more PROFFESIONAL wittness's and a CPS lawyer who does this for a living, day in day out. Im sure you can see where tis is heading.

HANNIE, looks to me like you have been done with laser, there are flaws to this system, my advice is to get proffessional advice on this one, there are ways out of this one and im not going to point them out on the board, like i said, pm me and al give you all the info you need

That's a nasty one mate

Everyone on here has surely put the foot down once or twice in their lifetime, I'm currently waiting to resit my test after getting a 12 month ban for dangerous driving so know how you feel. Gotta love the local bus service ! What I got caught for was stupid and I'm not asking for sympathy. My car has almost 400bhp so it's likely that I'll see the bad side of 100mph in no time, once I've passed that is

Your looking at a ban and a big fine I would think.

All depends on how they were being defended.

Might i suggest at 125mph, the only way your going to get off on is a flaw in evidence, technicality???

there fore a good solicitor will look for a flaw, if found, he will use it and you WILL get off, there are rules which have to be stuck to. 2 cases last week i attended, (both friends) contested speeding offences, bullied with all kinds of charges from the police for 4 month, went to court and one word to the CPS lawyer and they packed up there things and went home. WHY??? cos there was an error on the NIP, very simple but it was enough to have it thrown out.

What is it you have been reported for, dnagerous driving? carless and wreckless? there is a maximum punishment set for any offence, if you have an idea what you have been reported for, i will tell you what the worst is you can get, although im fairly certain we both know its bad.

fact is, you wont know untill you try and have someone go through all the evidence, you can sit here a read all day but its not really going to help
