Unlucky, I would imagine most drivers at some point in time have done a similar thing it's only the ones who get caught that people mock.

The main thing whatever happens is you learn from it!! I imagine what will happen will either be a 6month ban and large fine or if you can convince them you are really remorseful and you need you licence for you job they may give you 12 points {providing your licence is clean as if you have a speeding associated point on your licence already they may not be so nice}but no ban so next time you would be banned.

Just my thoughts but good luck & I hope they are in a good mood.

For a guilty plea at FIRST REASONABLE OPPORTUNITY a maximum discount of ONE THIRD

The 1st available chance he will have to enter a plea, there will already have been a date for the hearing set.

For a guilty plea AFTER a trial date has been set a maximum discount of ONE QUARTER

This really is the 1st chance he will get to enter a plea, there for this will be the most he can get off will it not??? BUT, and its a big BUT, what and decent solicitor will do is adjourn the hearing if there is not sufficeint time to look at the evidence, there fore there is still a chance that the evidence can be looked at before entering a plea

For a guilty plea on day of trial or after trial has begun a maximum discount of ONE TENTH

You would be silly to do this in the first place

Best you buy yourself a white bicycle then pal,

just think, you can drop the handle bars, or put cow horns on it,
or get one of the old fashioned car horns with the rubber bit you pump to get it to make a noise, oh, and you can stick your plastic part of your driving licence so it makes a load noise in the spokes as the wheel goes round.

But look on the brightside of life, you wont be done for speeding on it, however be warned you can be done for being drunk or under the influence of drugs on it.

I know, we all speed, who doesn't, if your going to speed, learn to look at what's happening up the road, not at your speedo.

Lets leave the unwanted to talk to them selves, they go away soon enough.

Getting back to the subject in hand,

Like others have said, it may not lead to a ban, dont be clever, dont be cocky, accept what you have done and appear ashamed with your self for your wrong doings.

I got stopped one night on the M6 Carlisle to Penrith stretch at around 1.30am. I was pulled over for doing in excess of 130mph (It was showing 155mph on the speedo). I didn't know it was a police car as I was pulling away quite rapidly from it after joining the motorway at 100+. When he pulled me over 15 miles later, he asked me if I knew why I had been pulled over, I replied that it would be because I was speeding. He asked do I know how fast I was going, I replied no, I was concentrating to on the road rather than the speedo but I thought it was probably around 100mph. He then replied with he was following at 130mph and I was pulling away from him and if he could have kept up he could have told me what speed I was doing. Looking extremely shocked I said I'd never have guessed I was going that fast as I didn't think my car was that fast.

He walked round the car and faulted several "Boyish" things about it which I retified the very next day and gave me a producer and sent me on my way with my tail between my legs.

If I get caught doing something wrong, I dont pleade, I own up to the fact and apologise looking ashamed of myself. Policeman aren't bad men, there doing there job and if you make it hard, they will have the last laugh. Judges are the same, bare that in mind when you stand up in court, look smart, speak clearly and most of all look ashamed. If you need your license for your job, get your boss to write a letter to the courts explaining this and hand it to them when they ask if you have information regarding the case.

125mph aint that bad (especailly in the north were the roads are quieter), if we were all honest, we'll have been faster than this on a single carraigeway at some point in our lives, I know I have.

Dont judge anybody unless you want to be judged yourself.

Best advice, own up immediately and show your remorseful of the situation. Give a clear answer as to why you were going at that speed, even if it means you were not paying attention to your speed for that short period of time.

I was clocked doing 125mph + along the A40 coming back from Wales, apparently I got caught on not one, but two camera's. When asked I said yep guilty, I would be foolish to try and talk my way out of it.

I gave my reasons aka I was under pressure as a server analyst, on my way out to several sites hence I was speeding, I was caught at 3:00 am in the morning however so not sure if that helped.

I got 6 points in the end and learn't my lesson all those years ago.

End of the day have to face up to facts, you got caught speeding, thats the past now, need to deal with the present. Put yourself in the judges shoes, he/she is expecting some honesty from you and that could go a long way.

Good luck,

Fz

Everyone has a moment of madness, I was caught by an unmarked car doing 137mph but luckily got away with it as I was provoked by the police.

I hope the judge hasn't heard about this case https://www.scoobynet.com/scoobynet-...ir-limits.html

Good luck and hope it turns out ok.

Unlucky mate, and good luck what ever happens...

Personally I am rarely under the limit, but thats my choice...

By the way, it is not law that you have to sign anything - you are perfectly allowed to refuse - albeit politely...

All the best..

[QUOTE=The Chief;6911004]As what EVOLUTION says get a bloody good solicitor, all you do gooders saying he deserves it should be fecking ashamed of yourselves, ok yes he was in the wrong but dont fecking hang him for it.

who here does not go above the speed limit? no one and if you dont then sell your car and get a bloody 2CV.

125mph is not that outrageous, ok its a bit silly given the circumstances but he has come on here cap in hand asking for advice.

he could lose his job, his home and maybe his wife (if he's married)

its easy to say 'well he should not have done it' true but there are a lot of things we shouldn't do but do.

rant over

i compleatly agree mate,so the people who have said "you deserve it" have never gone over 100mph in all the years youve been driving what a load of crap if thats the case why by someting that is high powered and drive it like a complete fanny you should stick to a 1.25zetec fiesta.

feel sorry for you mate all i can say is good luck and i hope they dont throw the book at you to hard

Hannie

Do you have any motoring convictions on your licence? By that I mean any current or past history that may be spent/removed.

Conditions? Time? Ahh so when it's 4am and sunny and dry the law no longer applies Does that apply to shoplifters, muggers and burglars too?
A moment of madness? 77 in a 70 is a moment of madness... 125 in a 70 is minutes of retardedness

The maniac thread starter is bound to get varying levels of sympathy on a BBS dominated by petrol heads and those who slate him will be tarnished by said eejits as "holier than thous" etc as it happens every time.

But, regardless of weather, time, colour of scooby or anything else, this plonker needs banning for 6 months to teach him a lesson

Hopefully he will just get 6 months and say £500 fine. That way the next time he is about to have some minutes of retardedness, he might just take his chuffin foot of the throttle
