Six years, it took me a while to pluck up courage and register.

Scoobynet was in part responsible for the purchase of my bugeye, it answered a lot of questions for me and gave me the courage to take the plunge. 5.5. years later I've still got the car and it's still a pleasure to own, but unless Subaru change radically it will be my last. The competion has left them way behind.

As for Scoobynet it's changed a lot, and I've drifted away to a certain degree, but the numbers of people using it making it my first point of reference if I need a question answered. As others have said it's not really about Subarus now.

Well I've been here for a while, and currently on my second Scoob. It was a while before I registered though, as I used to have a look on the original Scoobynet to try to find out what I was getting into when I bought the first car in November 1999, fresh from 11 years with a three-door Cosworth.

July 2000 for me.

2 Scoobs, a MY01 Fugly WRX and an STi Version V Type R.

I now no longer own a Subaru and can't ever see myself owning one as the image is just too downmarket now and there are better cars for the money out there now.

Currently driving a Skoda Octavia vRS TDi (350Nm of Torque!).

June 2001 for me just after I bought an MY01 WRX Wagon. Had actually put a deposit on a MY2000 classic but it fell through.

My first born was a month old then, now she's nearly six and doing well in school. Her sister born in 2004 is a cheeky monkey

The 01 went and was replaced by an 02 STi, shortly before I lost my Father. The 02 went for an 03 STi PPP, but was quickly replaced by an Evo 8 FQ330. That went a year later for a BMW 330d lasting 6 months before the lure of an 05 Sti PPP became too much.

That lasted 9 months before I sold it, put a deposit on a new S3 and bought a Rover 200 as a run about. The S3 turned up in January.

In Feb we sold up and put a deposit on a new build which should be ready in 4 weeks, currently in rental, the first time I have ever rented.

In terms of employment, I worked for Allied Dunbar/Zurich in 2001, left in 2004 for a position in a Service Management company, and aaprt from a short sabbatical working for Fujitsu in 2005, been here ever since.

In June 2001 I was 29, I'm now staring down the barrel of my 36th birthday

There you go 6 years

Bought my first Scoob (new) in March '99 Discovered S'net soon after, but I remember using 22B in the early months. Actually joined the SIDC before I took delivery!
Came from a Power Engineering turbo converted Mondeo 2ltr Si (very rare!)
I now have an 03 STi bought new, PPP'd and subsequently re-mapped.
I'm now semi-retired, so no more expensive new cars - what could I replace it with that would give the performance and that I could afford?
According to my profile I've done a mere 1.05 posts per day, so I've not quite reached the S'net saddo status yet?

7 years later this year. Times flies. Fairly low post count, but I hardly ever go into muppets because I'm expected to actually do some w*rk occasionally.

In that time, had 2 Scoobs. A 1993 classic JDM WRX for a couple of years. Got rid of that when I went to Iraq. Then moved to Canada for over 2 years. On getting back from Canada, got myself a 52 plate bug eye WRX which I've still got.

First ever posted online on a thing called DecNotes when I worked at Digital (DEC) in 1991. Got flamed by a load of Yanks for using the phrase "Dutch Courage". At least until I explained it came from the term Dutch Gin Courage rather than me accusing the Dutch of needing alcohol to be brave.

been here over 6 years now since i got the greenwagon in june2000

Discovered a meet up in scotland so went for a 200 mile round trip and managed to keep up with the scottish
Jan 01 got together with 2 other lads from Cumbria Fasrer mike and rusty and Cumbrian scoobs was launched in a dodgy pub in sleepy cumbria

We are now 50 strong with regular 20cars +at meetings

then as i couldnt settle kept an eye on scoobynet northern and saw a Tyne tees scoobys club starting to form
a brisk drive over the pennines and met up with 6 blokes in jeans staring into a bonnet of a subaru
Tyne tees scoobies was born
we now have 200 members+ and 50 cars at regular meets

Again it still wasnt enough for me and driving down to gunthorp to see the Big one with 200 cars in afiels was too much for me

driving back i though we could do that so i hatched a plan to CS and TTS who said it was crazy but just <might > work

Intial plan was 20 from CS and we might get 30 cars from TTS to meet

NBO our first ever and 400 scoobys turned up in a field and all my fantasys had came true !!!

Now we are 5 weeks away from NBO5

WOW how things have grown from humble beginnings

I still have the green wagon and it is 7 years old next month

in my other life i was made reduntant after 17 years as a general manger and now love an easy stress free job thats better then flogging my guts out with stress /hassel and leting gordon brown take 40% of my earnings .

All i worry about now is the sun shining on the 17th june at the NBO 5

I browse the for sale adds daily like a lost soul, knowing I cant have one again in my current situation but I WILL be back one day, I want a JDM blob

Cool

Feb 2001 for me. At that time my quote was - "Well my Sport can keep up with turbos round the corners".
Then I got a 98 UK turbo and quickly realised what complete rubbish I was spouting!
Had an Alfa 156 (always at dealers)
Followed by a new 2.5 Legacy - luxury leather-climate etc etc but I found it just not fast enough.
Now gone back to having an Impreza 99 Wagon - ahhh happy days are here again.

No wonder you were stressed. Quote: "general manger" if you cannot spell manager how the hell did you manage? In my haulage empire you would have been fired within 48 hours for such ignorance

The mind boggles
