On a non-built engine built engine! Blimey......Good work. How long do you think it'll last then, at a guess?

My honest answere is we dont know ......its still going strong after having covered close to 1000miles.......20+ full bore dyno runs......and had some fairly serious abuse off me at Japfest last weekend........
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3d4Y0EfW13k

Add to this that the engine hasnt had an easy life previous to this either....42,000miles, 139 dyno runs in total and from 355HP-504HP

great to see people pushing the envelop ... when i first got my bugeye in 2003 most people said 300bhp was absolute max, mines been running 390 ish now for a good year along with many others and its only garages like GRD (amongst a few others) that make this possible

Thats the thing though isn't it. Everyone always says "How long will it last though" my answer is that that is exactly what we are trying to find out. If we can run the car for x 1000 miles and its still fine it then raises the bar on what can reliably be extracted from a UK STI8 engine.

Well done Aaron and GRD.

This particular car has certainly moved on since I saw it (Last February?? ). Back then it was pretty capable 380bhp on a top mount.

It just goes to show, how far these cars can be developed.

2 Years ago, 400bhp in a daily driver was very rare. Now 500bhp is attainable for the average Joe.

Keep pushing guys.

Was that 500+ on a standard 2.0 block or did it have a 2.5 put in it?.....were the heads/ecu still standard?

I know most the newage JDM's have hypereutectic pistons, in which case thats very impressive

What power/torque have you acheived with JDM standard block and heads? Was it tested on track etc i.e. driven hard.

498bhp 445lbft std unopened MY02, running V power with 10% methanol.

It was against my recommendation I have to say but I am assured it is a short term solution until the 2.65 short motor arrives

It was only mapped yesterday and its still going today

Nice car actually, some very special bits on it, it will be running at SSO.

Should be interesting to see how the on track results compare then

Is it a spec c or normal JDM STi?

Dales 2.0 std internals car ran 11.53@123mph. He was also 3rd overall and the fastest non tuner entry on the handling course.

Not sure how the GRD car got on ?

Not too good, struggled with a slipping clutch all day and didnt even manage to get one launch in without major slippage

Think i managed 7th, but am confident i would have been top 4 without the problems.

Didnt run 1/4mile due to the above^^^

I can imagine, we had a little chat if you recall early on before things got underway. I am still hankering after the Spec C especially after your opinion of it.
