485.1bhp STI8 trying to get out the rollers

Not trying to prove anything. It was and still is a test to see what these engines can handle in standard trim and how long they will last. There have always been guestimates as to what the limit is for any given year of impreza. This was an update for people interested in whether the car was still running and what it has been used for.
You see a lot of posts from people asking "will it be reliable" when they are thinking of tuning. At least if they see this it will give them a good idea that say a 400bhp conversion should be bullit proof on a similar year car.[/QUOTE]
good points there

Very true that I may just have a "good engine" but then I'm not suggesting that everyone should go out and try to run over 500bhp on their engine. If a good engine can ran at over 500bhp then no one should theoretically have trouble running 400bhp. Infact I would hazard a guess and say 450bhp should be pretty reliable.

is this a uk engine? if it is its even more impressive as there has been a lot of threads stating the jdm engine is much stronger than a uk, well done

The only other option we have looked seriously at doing is another vp109 racefuel map, as when the last one was done we ran slightly lower boost and had a leak on the uppipe(since corrected) and see what it runs then
