From reading the linked post there seems to be alot of people who think the police aren't doing anything. What do people think they can do? I can only see an act of dangerous driving which has not been witnessed by police. If the victim could ID the suspect an was willing to attend court to give evidence there may be a chance, but would it be in the public interest to prosecute this case if there was a 50% chance of conviction? Sorry to rant and I do feel sorry for the victim in this, but many people on this forum love to blame police without thinking it through.
This problem is different. The poster goes on about being blonde. What the hell that has to do with it is beyond me. I am blonde and get no end of hassle on the roads with idiots wanting to race and generaly being ******. I ignore it. I have my kids with me too. So, why bother the law about it. Just pootle on and forget about it. They will soon get tired if the baited does not bite
I put it down to being female

*the cheques in the post*, But you have missed the point... I was pertaining to the Everyday occurence of these type of crimes AND worse in the inner city areas there are very rarely coppers around when this/these things happen and all that happens if you report anything is you get given a 'crime number'

I have no problem with the law. They have been fantastic with me in the past. Living in the sticks, we get prowlers, they were there $hit hot.

I don't mind people trying to have a play , its part of the course but if my missus came home really shaken up then its because someone as took it too far. I'd say this is such a case , trying to ram her off the road , thats not goading someone for a spirited drive thats being a **** and a dangerous one at that.

Oh yeah.......... hectic..........I like you!! You talk a lot of sense.
My policeman mate says that the way to tackle this is to report him for road rage. It is taken very seriously by his area force and he's been involved in several such occurences where they have had to go round to the "road *****" house sometime after the event. A formal statement must be given though and it will require court appearance.
He did say they often get jail though!! Which is good.

Actually not true - I phoned 999 when a guy was yelling at me and threatening me, threatening to put a brick thru my car window etc. Lady on the end of the phone reassured me they would be there within minutes. It took them 3 hours. They were too busy changing shift and accompanying prisoners somewhere.

Sorry to hear about this, it's a joke owning a nice car
I get all the little chav scum's attention both on and off the road.
Yesterday for example I was driving through an industrial estate with my other half and they decided to attempt at throwing something at my car, big group of them, no older than 13.
It just annoys me so much, one day I will invest in a big gun/braker bar and smash the **** out of any chav who puts me or my girlfriends life at risk!
Saxo owners are the worst but they tend to leave me alone strangely, not worthy more than likely lol
Hope you catch him and feed him to a really large dog!

That sounds about right actually!
Personally, I've never really "needed" the police in a hurry, so can't comment on the response times, but I have heard so many stories how the police have turned up to an emergency call half an hour after the "incident" is all over and done with.
I am in no way wanting to turn this thread into a police-bashing excercise, but it does seem to me that they are ever so keen to be visible in the communities, but when it comes to being needed there, they seem to be nowhere near.
Motoring offences and road rage incidents are really a field which should be left for the traffic division. They are the specialists, but if they are not in the right place/area at the right time, then you're on your own I guess. You'll probably see half a dozen "jam sandwiches" at the cop shop though.
Between Thursday afternoon and Saturday morning I drove from York to Dover, went to Fance, cam back and then drove back fro Dover to York. I did not see one single police car in the UK, but.............I saw plenty of speed cameras (plenty of the Average Speed ones).........what does this tell us?.........that the traffic cars are not on the motorways, so they must be on the smaller roads and in the towns/cities?? If they are in the towns......why can't they respond in time to a woman who is being seriously harrassed and hassled on the road??

As per stated in original thread, I am female (using husbands login today) with 2 year old girl and have trouble with idiots wanting to race me,or park in my boot most days I drive the car with daugther in car. (I drive safely and mind my own buisness) I have felt threatened on numerous occasions and mainly by vehicles that have no power whatsoever e.g white vans and people carriers (always men driving i afraid) who drive up my backside until they decide to pass on double lines or hash markings or when an oncoming car is coming they always then cut in in front of my car (sometimes jamming on their breaks-always a smart move)We then get to a hill and of course, me maintaining a steady speed in my impreza then pass them as they struggle up in 3rd gear-this is usually seen as a come on by them for a race and it all starts again. I never try and race these idiots as I have nothing to prove and plus mine and my daughters safety is paramount. I do think these drivers cant stand to see a female driving a fast car (never had this kind of aggression in any other car I have driven) and in their small heads think that if they pass an impreza at 60 it must mean their 6 seater is quicker!!! I also believe they were once laughed at in the showers at school over the size of their manhood!!! Lucy

Ah FFS......that makes it even worse!! If it had been a VTS that the owner has spent money on making it "fast", then I can see the mentality, but a fookin boggo bottom of the range job?? Seems to me that this Saxo driver is obviously just a pure ***** when he's behind the wheel. I'd suggest that it won't be the first time he's done such a thing, and won't be the last.
Did you tell "Yorkshire's Finest" to watch out for Scoob owners looking for Saxos in the York area?
Also.............forget York Raceway lol

don’t let this silly F**K put you of driving a car you love (don’t think it will) I have so much respect for female Scooby drivers as I take it that this kind of thing is way more common for them to experience day to day.
glad that most of the Scoobynet lot are pulling around in support, happy driving to you

DVLA Online Vehicle Licensing | Home follow the Vehicle Enquiry link and show a little bit of info about the car, i.e. type and engine size, Tax Due but not the owners address. Some other sites require a payment for info on cars, they may be of more help in tracing this owner but I not sure as I have not used them my self. Hope the Law has a word with them, I live in the SW (Bridgwater) and Week Ends the town fills with chavs and Nova`s. The car parks are a wonderful site on a Sunday morning, lots of burnout marks in the car parks around the Muck Donald's area!! Police are a waste of time, only one entrance to the park and all they need to do is wait until the ***** are at it and block off the entrance, do a check and nab the illegal ones..............probably to much work for them.

Could it have been a case of mistaken identity? Perhaps they have an ongoing feud with another blue Impreza and being complete morons they don't realise there might possibly be more than one locally.
I do get blokes trying to wind me up on a daily basis but I have also had the opposite - they pull up at the lights and you just know they want a race...then they see a female driver...do a double take...and you can almost see them deflate LOL.

I too am a female scooby driver and i know exactly what your up against.. but that is just so sick.. he needs a slap!
Scoobies attract attention anyway and before you can say "on your bike" you have some complete moron and all his gorilla pals sat beside you revving like their Alonso on the grid.. But surprise surprise they are in a saxo or something very similar and they seem to have some kind of point to prove. I don't even bother, i won't and don't take the bait.. I won't waste my petrol on the idiots, i just laugh at them openly so they can see me doing it.. Surely they must realise they have 0-60 in half hour jobby!
