A lot of cinemas ban you from taking your own food and drink in now and even search you on the way in.
Taking your own wine into some restaurants is ok if they haven't got a drink slicence to serve their own and welcome you to do so. Often the case in a lot of Indians/baltis etc.

as for them searching my girlfriend, il just politely refuse and ask their rights to search at total randomness. if all else fails, i go into troll mode and demand my money back and throw the ticket in their faces. done it before will do it again. they rip you off properly with ridiculous food prices, and i for one like munchies when im watching a film.

also got visions of people sneaking 4 cans of LCL into the local boozer PMSL

There was a report on tv (so it must be true) about food in cinemas, and the result was, they can't actually stop you taking food into cinemas and eating it. They can tell you they don't want you to do it, they claim for health and safety reasons

I've sumggled drink out but never in
For those who know Tellins I used to walk back from the town centre to Rainford (in my student days) so needed to smuggle out a pint or two to see me home... Thankfully my mate was into skate boards so wore baggy jeans with immense pockets.
I once got barred for serving myself in a pub because they were taking too long, but never took my own booze in? I did though drink a bottle of 20/20 behind a local multi storey before going into the town centre pubs when I was 17-20

I have a "special" pair of trousers, I can get a bottle of wine in each pocket
Me and a mate had done this at an hotel in Blackpool. Later there was a comedian on and he asked who was in from Yorkshire.
When a few answered, he said, "Oh sh*t, I'll tell the bar. Takings'll be down, you'll all have brought your own booze".
Me and my mate cracked up, 'cos we HAD.
