RB5 is also a great car with the Prodrive Performance upgrade.
But I would still rate the P1 a better car on out right performance, handling, and pure enjoyment to own.
Fuel consumption very similar. (Most Scooby owners know its not that good but leave it at that, what do you expect from a 2L turbo performance car!)
You must judge whether you need 4 doors or 2.
More ground clearance at front with RB5,P1 has front spoiler a bit lower.
P1 turns a few more heads.
I also prefer gear ratios in p1,more sporty.
P1 revs to around 8000rpm, and feels like a proper sports car.
P1 a bit firmer on road but shocks are more classy, so do not crash or be harsh like some sports dampers.difficult to explain.
Hope this helps

I owned both a P1 and an STI5 Type R one after another. The P1 is just about perfect for daily driving, after all Prodrive took a standard STI5 Type R and modified it for use in the UK, with parts that are more appropriate.
Yes the Type R is more edgy, feels more exciting to drive, and probably goes round a track a tiny bit faster - but is that what you really want going to Sainsburys?
I know after owning both I far preferred the P1 for everyday use. The only issue for me was the low front spoiler, there were plenty of speed humps in Swindon* which were high enough to catch on it.
* Particularly in the Taw Hill area.
