Just done mine BIG boy!!
Pushed the enigne output cog fairly hard onto the spur gear and it made some noise and vibrated a bit when I spun it. Undone the engine bolts a tad and slightly tapped the engine mount with a screw driver until the noise had gone back to normal, without vibration. Made sure the teeth of both cogs were mated properly but not too much, then done the engine bolts up nice and tight (but not too tight). It now sounds and feels just as it did before, but the spur gear teeth and the drive cog teeth are properly mated......JOB DONE!!!
Will test it tomorrow by driving it slowly at first and then checking it's still in the correct position...........then it's BASH time baby
Instead of the 54T standard cog, I could only get a 58T spur gear. I've been told that the more teeth the spur gear has, the faster acceleration it will have but the lower the top speed will be.
Will see how it goes, but maybe try a 52T gear next time as I think the acceleration is pretty darned good after Mr Frayz tuned it up Hopefully the 52T may allow it to top 50mph

something i have learned the past couple of weeks while Salvaging the Savages.
The less teeth on the clutch bell house = more power
The more teeth = Speed
The lighter the springs on the clutch shoes = quicker clutch response for quick gear change.
The harder the clutch springs = later gear change.
I have already tried the 18t with a 48t spur gear, awesome speed but no wheelys, changed the clutch bell to 13t, and i'm wheelying all the time

Thanks for that John, it's all still new to me so the more info I can get, the better
Only changed the spur gear due to it being shredded with the POWER these T-Maxx's produce, obviously much more than any Savage
Had any elastic-band wars lately??
Will defo have a chat with you about different cogs next time we have a meet

Can we stop the use of the word "COGs" please gentlemen.
Cogs were developed by the Dutch hundreds of years ago and consisted of a circular wheel with square blocks attatched to it around the outside. These blocks acted as teeth to integrate with other cogs to turn one another.
The term is GEARs please.
Thankyou

As most won't go below 10ftlb of torque, but you can get screw driver style torque drivers, that go to 'inch lb' of torque
I take it this is for the engine install....
