my daughter is 6 months in 12 days. hard work at times (broken sleep, little time to yourself etc), but she is very calm, placid and smiley so we're lucky really.
if it helps, mrs g went for the i-candy apple travel system. we bought chassis, pram thingy, car seat (maxi cosy) and buggy thingy and rain covers. didn't really want a "3 wheeler" for the reasons my sister did - ie a fashion accessory, so we went for the above. having used it with 4 wheels for 4 months, it drove us mad then number of times one of the sets of wheels would spin round and lock up when it hit the ground again (ie where it left the ground on one corner due to uneven pavement). converted to 3 wheels and is much easier to handle now.
our neighbours across the road are about to have their 3rd child (due mon i believe) and they have just bought the same system as us, so having been there twice already and then going for the same as we have must be a good recommendation IMHO
ps - may not be the most cost effective solution, but we're pleased with it

I have one of those as well and had the same problems but while is is a good solid bit of kit it is a bit to big and clumsy and no longer gets any use at all. The shaky little pramette gets more use as its lighter and more portable and does not need so many bits plugged in to carry out all of its functions.
If you want to go the £500+ route personally I think you should go all the way and get a Bugaboo. They are the lightest by far and most shops will throw in a free Maxi cosy as they are not allowed to discount.

bugaboo -now that really would be a fashion statement!
i can't believe those silly little front wheels are worth bothering with.
would agree that the i-candy is a little on the heavy side though - although size 8-10 mrs g has no problems with it

Not too sure of the due date of ours, bleeding docs are useless, they said initially 1st week or so in December, but we think its more likely to be around the 2nd week of Novemeber, so same as yours Matteeboy ![Big Grin](images/smilies/biggrin.gif)
Still not had a scan yet though, was supposed to be this week, but its now been put back till the 14th june![Roll Eyes (Sarcastic)](images/smilies/rolleyes.gif)
It is a Graco that we have, around 200 new I think, this one is pretty good as it does have the car seat too, personally I think this style is better as it means you can carry them from the buggy to the car without disturbing them too much, and vice versa

So about four of us expecting at the same time then?
Guess February must have been an otherwise quiet month!
Sonic - That seems very late if it's due at a similar time.
Got the routine blood tests for various stuff today. As usual, I won't watch (hate seeing blood being taken!)!

I know Matteboy, I think the Doc's dont really give a sh*t round here to be honest, she has phoned them a few times and they kept telling her she was only 6-8 weeks when she first went so no need for midwife etc yet
Bit ridiculous as I have said, we think she was closer to 12 weeks when she went to see the docs the 1st time, and they have refused to see her since, as they still believe she is only 6-8 weeks (at the time of the visit)
Until we have the first scan then we won't know for definate, still not been appointed a midwife either, and the doc still refuses to do anything at this point

Sonic - That's terrible!
Our midwife has been great and we were about a week out on our guesstimated time of conception (or in fact the midwife was) but no problems with that.
Morning sickness pretty much disappears at 12 weeks so if she's still feeling peaky, it may be earlier than 12.

Tell me about it, I have an old friend who is a Midwife at the local hospital, unfortunately she is only based on the Wards and not out doing the rounds etc, I have emailed her a few times, and she has said that it has been known for expectant mothers to say that they have been bleeding to get a scan quicker, especially if the Doc isn't playing ball
Not something we want to do though, but it is highly frustrating to have to wait so long for the scan

Another November baby!!
Just had a 15 week blood test (well wife did anyway!) and got to hear the babies' heart beat - Doesn't sound like much but it was pretty cool hearing it beating away (at about 120bpm!)

Why change the exhaust for a quieter one ? if your missus has been out in the scoob with you, then the baby will already be used to the noise once born
trust me, 3 kids and they all love the scooby burble, all heard it through each pregnancy too

indeed sonic good point leave the exhaust on !
hmm perhaps this is a good time to change the exhaust then !
