About 3 years ago i had a Mondeo ST24. Was popping into Maccies with the kids when these w$nker in Vectra Sri cuts me up and handbrakes into the car park. After making sure my kids are ok, i get out to purchase food only to see big queues. HHHmmmmm me thinks, out comes my key and i descreetly walk around his car as if im going in then change my mind
Fully keyed right the way round,

Who do these people think they are ?

I now have a ding on my drivers side door of my 52 STI 2 days after taking 3 out!!!!!!!!

I do not condone my keying action but i just snapped!!!!!!

I too use the parking in 2 spaces rule

How long before the EU stop that too

I think I must win the most dinged door prize... near side rear door has 17 seperate dings in it. I'm either going to go for the all over hammered look, or get some side bars for protection. Now when I return to the car and some twonk has parked real close to me I do a check to make sure there aren't 18 dings! Not found the extra one yet... touch wood

I was nice and mellow before reading this thread, now i'm splitting blood.

I know exactly what eveyone on here is talking about,i've had my fair share of dings.I too use the 2 space rule now in free car parks but tried it once in a pay and display and got a ****ing ticket !

I like the idea of the fella who said he bought 2 tickets - would this be accepted or would the jobs worths still slap and nice sticky envelope on your windscreen

nope, technically they have no legal right too. your paying for two spaces, so use two spaces. how can you pay for two, and recieve a ticket for using them. your not pouring nuclear waste over them, your using them for parking.

The lines are there in a car park to tell you where to park, if you cant park inside the lines then you deserve a ticket, it doesnt matter how many parking tickets youve bought, if you have 1 car surely you should use 1 parking bay

If your car is too nice to leave in public car park then why not leave it at home?

I would happily squeeze my rusty old car into a tight space next to a nice car, not to damage it though, just so they get the message,

1 answer is, to do your shopping online

I have a confession.

When I was in France last year, we were rushing back to catch the train and spent a very quick ten minutes sorting out some duty frees in one of the supermarkets.

When I got back to the car, my daughter went to get out of the back and the wind (it was very strong and coming from the back of the car) whipped the door out of her hand and it smashed into the car next to us. It left a large dent with some of my paint decorating it. I was horrified but didn't have the time to get into discussons with a local or we would have missed the train.

I quickly weighed up all the dents and dings I had received and came to the conclusion I would do a runner. I also felt that the dent was of such a nature that it would likely pop out quite easily and the car wasn't in the best of condition. (Yes, I was trying to convince myself!!)

I wasn't particularly happy with my actions and still feel a little guilty but as Terminator X states what goes around comes around only this time it was in reverse.

When I got home, I was amazed to find no evidence of the bang on my door. Couldn't even see where the paint had come from.

So, moral of the story is, when it is very windy, be careful how you open your doors when parked next to something.

Hey I just take pride in my vehicle and I won't have some jealous moron or idiot hurt it. I also work hard to keep it looking good and running great. Why put it at risk, It's not my actions it's the actions of others that force me to behave in this way.
As for walking to the shops, when you live in the sticks you cannot always rely on public transport. I am not afraid to drive my scoob, I love driving it, just feel that I cannot leave it alone where it might become a magnet for morons or idiots with keys. I do not need stripes!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I am sure fellow owners feel the same about theirs!!!!!!!!!!

True enough Jen. end of the day its your pride and joy and you want no harm to come to it. To me my car may as well be an Aston as its the best i can afford probably the same way the Aston boys feel about there cars.

A few years ago I parked my old Lotus Carlton in a multistory car park, I had parked RIGHT up against the wall so people had loads of room but some woman parked pissed and right up against my car, as I came back to my car I saw her hit my door with hers, so as she left I kicked a massive dent in her door, naughty I know but the car park was almost empty so theres no excuse for parking next to my car and parking so bloody close

erm, i could walk to the shops... but me and my fiance couldnt carry two weeks shopping home in our hands. i refuse to use public transport, as i have a car for that job. i refuse to shop online (if asdas do that anyway), as i like to browse through the aisles incase me and her fancy different things to eat etc.

pretty simple, if there wasnt so many ********* without the ability to park safely in a bay and open their doors carefully, i would park in one bay. until then i will use two, even if it means the end of the world and you sir calling me a ******. ive been called worse.

no offence intended.

Have to agree that does take the **** when people park across two bays or in disabled/mother and baby spaces, they are being just as f**king selfish as the idiots who dent peoples doors!

went to Wickes in Swindon 2 weeks ago. As I was pulling into parking spot, someone wasn't paying attention to their flat bed trolley loaded with heavy floor tiles, which drifted off then went down the side of my car. 5 inch scratch through to base metal. Pr1ck.
I went nuts, he didnt give a toss. Ive got his number marked....

I'm sure in 99% of cases peoples cars are the best they can afford... Some of these parking miles away from anywhere, double bay parking, waiting in car stories are great examples of O.C.D.

I'd just arrived in Tescos car park and was sitting in my car when an idiot bint in an Audi A4 reversed *hard* into my front bumper - hard enough to move my car back a foot with the handbrake on

I got out to speak to her - she shook her head at me and drove off at speed

Pity for her that I was driving a Volvo 740 estate with bumpers like the Forth Bridge - no damage to my car, but a fookin huge dent on the rear wing of the Audi

Then years ago there was an old guy who drove into the back of my mates Vitesse at traffic lights. We got out to have words with him - he locked his door and stared straight ahead..............

So we got back in the Vitesse and drove off - leaving him in a cloud of steam and hot water where the Vitesse towbar had punctured his radiator

A few years ago i had a women reverse into me whilst sitting at a set of traffic lights (only left or right turn, she got in the wrong lane) smacked into my front bumper (205gti) popped a few of the bolts that connect it to the car but she had a nice big dent in the bumper of her brand new rover 200 (at the time it was new) and one very annoyed husband, who just stared at her not saying a word which made me laugh.

We do that in the mini. My impreza has a few parking bumps but that doesn't give anyone the right to behave like a selfish gimp. It is this sort of thing that doesn't help a bit with the impreza's image.

Of course if it is the furthest corner of an empty car park then not so much of an issue. At the park and ride i always park at the far side of the car park inches from the kerb leaving as much room as possible and it has been fine so far. there is a black 06 STI who does the same thing and occasionally another wagon. The far row is becoming a show for well parked scoobies.

So why do I always get people parking like c*nts next to me when i have parked in one bay? Sometimes you need a tin opener to get into your car.

Alot of you seem to be doing this wrong in my eyes.

If you come back to find a dent in your car and the car still packed next to you, dont kick off the wing mirror or damage the car in any other way, just wait and get the insurance details from the driver!! You already have the reg number, and they can't leave the scene of a crime!

I'd rather have a fixed motor than a 10 minute feeling of satisfaction from klicking off his wing mirror!

When it happened to the missus the old boy in his jeep thing tried to dismiss it, in the end rather than going through insurance he coughed up the dough for the repair! sorted.

On another note someone reveresed into my mums car the other day and had totaled the drivers door!! then has driven off, feckin losers!!!

Dave.

drivers that cant park should not be allowed a drving license imo, they should have to learn to drive properly first.
