Err, me for a start and someone else on here retracted a bit on this item. I take it your car hasn't been stripped of its parts and fenced off then? One of my old cars had the front splitter and rear spoiler stolen.
In fact I've gone and bought a P1 spoiler this morning from somewhere that seems less likely to be selling knocked off goods.
I really do wonder about the IQ levels of some people who use this site.

you know what i get fed up with ????
the amount of eyewash spoken on these forums
can any of you buy anything without having to ask what its like ,how fast , whats the handling like
most of you couldn't push an escort XR3i to its limits never mind a scoopapoo!!!
some people can't even buy a cheap banger on there own
there is an arguement that if the retailers weren't so fookin expensive then things wouldn't get stolen as there would no money in it,
so if you crave material items then in some way you could be considered tobe feeding the crime yourself, !!!
so if you don't want the damn p1 spoiler, leave the ****** alone,
or you could go round his house inspect it for marking and post on here to see if its original owner can I.D it,
not wanting to do that
then stop b*tching and get some work done

Lots of knicked stuff on fleabay and this is well known.
This is a Subaru forum so not suprisingly that items like this raise a few comments, plenty of people have had stuff knicked of of their cars.

eBay.co.uk: GENUINE P1 SPOILER ***BARGAIN NO RESERVE*** (item 160123686123 end time 07-Jun-07 19:52:03 BST)
Asked the seller of the above item if he had any proof he ownes/d a P1 as I didn't want to bid on a potential stolen item and all I got back was a sarcastic reply.
A P1 spoiler was stolen and listed on Ebay a few months back I believe.
Bidders beware.

It may well be stolen but given the number of Subaru's that do get nicked what do you expect him to say if he is genuine?
"Oh yes I have a P1 that I keep in the garage at the back of my house, there's no lock on the garage door and the car keys are on a hook just inside the back door. You can't miss it, it's parked next to my R1 motorbike"
If somebody I didn't know started asking me questions about my car when I was selling parts on ebay I'd not give them much information either.

I think even if his story is right surely the spoiler is knicked anyway as it should be going as payment for the lampost? (which im sure he has not paid to replace)
Also why no picture of his car, surely an owner of a p1 and a digi camara would have a proud picture to show the spoiler in all its glory?

Rather interestingly, there is a P1 residing in a village not more than 15miles away from high wycombe... and it doesn't have a rear wing!!! seen it 3 times now though its been like that for atleast 2 weeks.
not wanting to speculate....

Are you for real?????
If i want to spend my hard earned money on 'material' things, thats my right. But no tosser has the right to steal it cos I've got something he wants and can't afford, or wants to make a fast buck at my expense!!!
If caught, I'd knee-cap 'em!!

Think of it from both sides.

I expect if it was a genuine sale for him to reply that he could provide some sort of paperwork on any car he has/d, or even a non sarcastic reply, simple enough really. I didn't accuse him of selling dodgy stuff in his advert when I first mailed him, I made it clear I wasn't fishing or wanting to offend.

In this case I suspect you're right but ebay can be a dangerous place.
I sold a 7 month old Impreza on ebay last year and I had a guy email me asking me to fax him a copy of the logbook ( so he could verify it was genuine) and wanting directions to my house so he could come and have a look at the car. He probably thought that my car was stolen because I didn't give him a very helpful reply.
