welcome to Scoobynet Pitty,

Fiat coupes are bloody quick even in standard form, dont worry about your STI being quicker in a straight line (it probably is anyway)

an STI over any given road will be able to put the power down better than the Fiat.

good luck with the car.
Hope I havent misunderstood your post but when you talk about putting power down on any given road you need to realise a FC can deploy its power just fine in the dry. I had no issues with P-zero tyres and a maintained car. Foot down, load of lag then away you go. Virtually no torque steer. Problem with Coops is the **** load of lag... with such long gearing they just take too long to spool up by which time my Evo would be gone. But on boost with a chip+exhaust they are not to be underestimated! Still have fond memories of mine, 70 in 2nd, 110 in 3rd, 140 in 4th and easy see indicated 160mph. Comfy, nice interier, pininfarina built (so not made like other fiats). Performance bargain at the prices they are now just get a good one.

Start modding and they are as fast as anything out there within reason. Handling is safe and fun but can be snappy when youre drifting but you can balance on the throttle up to a point.

In the wet a little tricky in 1st, but in 2nd foot to the floor. Mine wasnt chipped just a std car. As quick as the figures suggest... maybe not quite. But in a straight line easy a match for the modern equivilant.

Sometimes in a 350bhp Evo im at 90mph changing for 4th and thinking... the Fiat would be just stretching its legs in 3rd by now. You gotta love the Fiat. Fix it again tony? Christ mine never missed a beat in 2 years apart from consumables. FACT.

Sorry to upset you mate.
I just think the idea of posting on here about racing other types of car is pathetic.
Perhaps I am a snob, but I don't think illiteracy is anything to be proud of, nor is it something you can do nothing about.
Nothing personal.

The thread is about Fiat Coupes. If you dont like performance comparisons then why bother posting at all. Many people are interested in the abilities of 1 vehicle compared to another, read any performance car magazine and you will see what I mean.

Spend a little more time on your English and less with the cars, that's my advice.

What a nasty bitchy place this is becoming I raced one a while ago back in 2005, left him standing off the line but at the end of the quarter mile there was only 4 or 5 lenghs in it. Nippy cars but they have the ugliest rear end Welome BTW

Always thought my fiat was fast. Not quite in the same league but it used to make civic type r's look stupid. Thirsty on the juice though. Well not compared to an sti! Not sure if my clocks in miles or kilometers but I only get around 30 somethings to £10's worth of optimax. Sound right under average driving?

About right mate, I am afraid if you wanted economy you should have bought a diesel. The last track day I went to I was averaging 9mpg

Because any car that beats an Impreza has to be modified

What makes you think he was ''running'' anything other than standard power? They are quick cars in their own right. They are capable of hitting 60mph in 6 seconds dead and 100mph in just over 14 seconds. Take away the wheel spin off the line and you have a rapid car which wouldn't be a mile away from being a match for your STi. The fact that you crawled past it probably meant it was standard
