Interesting comments there guys And good info too. Didnt think about the boot springs. Any ideas on costing?

Maybe I will do the other bits first then get onto the spoiler.
Looks like the lip and the lights get done first now

I am collecting a STi v8 spoiler at the weekend for my WRX Have the Prodrive one on atm, just fancied a change I guess.

I was quoted approx £25 from Subaru for the boot lid springs btw...

There was a thread about this recently where the general concensus was that the standard boot springs where up to the job.

Aaaah so could be a case of, fit spoiler, see how it goes, order new ones if required.
Its a brand new car, so they wont be aged or anything

Will take a look about for alternatives for the spoiler in the meantime.

i got an OE Spec C hi level spoiler to go on mine and it came up fine with the original springs.
I think the originals ones are fine but you can get fibreglass copys that are way heavier than stock ones which would make it difficult for the original springs

Nothing wrong with putting a high level wing on a WRX.
What is wrong in my opinion is putting STI stickers on a WRX.
Nik.

Agreed with Nik..

Spoilers - fine, sideskirts - fine, bumpers - fine..

Stickers - Die. Painfully.

Go for it

STi V6 onto MY95 WRX:

Helps the look of the car so much... more 'aggressive' looking from front and rear

Car has 'WRX Impreza' on the wing, flaps, and boot... agreed putting "Sti" stickers on a WRX is naff...

Stickering it as a "Sport" however is perfectly acceptable

Was going to put an STi spoiler on mine when I first got it, went off the idea, like the discreet look better.

Go for the high level rear spoiler, there,s plenty of good replica,s about which are different to the STI.

When i changed my stock WRX ironing board for an STI wing i didn't change the boot springs and it was fine.

Cheers Nik, nice to have confirmation of that

I think its tints first, rear lights second, headunit etc 3rd, so body mods are a way off yet

It's your car, you do it if you want to.

Personally, I would. Love the high level spoiler and front splitter. But then I am biased.

I think its a good idea although i would say that since i have done it myself. But, you have to do right. When i say that, i mean get the whole package right.
If your going to do it, get both rear spoilers, iv seen too many hawkeyes with the mini wing missing and it stands out. Also, as others have said, you need to get the wheels done and even get the ride hight sorted out.
I have to admit, i am going to go further with mine but thats because i am an Sti wanna be but i couldnt afford to buy one at the time.
Appart from Brembo's, which are coming, the car looks like an Sti and with a few engine mods will go more like an Sti.
Anyway, what im saying is that if you do it, make the experts look hard to tell the difference!!
