The Teachers who are on a salary ARE paid the highest hourly rate of any job in the country ..... take their salary, £35,000 on average, divide it by the number of 'directed' hours in a week they actually have to do something and you will see what a fantastic hourly rate they are on!!
In at 8:30am gone by 3:15pm with 2 breaks between and 'rest' periods.

Head Teachers do actually work long hours and have their work cut out for them - £80k is a generous amount however!! And thats a common salary for Heads.
Two payrises per year too and they STILL bloody moan!!

I think you will find that it is nearer 26 hours of 'directed' time!! NOT the 35 hours you think!!

Teachers are salaried - they don't get any overtime when they work 12 hour days during term time and spend days in school out of term time to prepare the classroom for the forthcoming term.

Obviously they get to understand the current ciruclum, create lesson plans and mark work within the school hours while they simultaneously teach a class of 30+ abusive children? ![Roll Eyes (Sarcastic)](images/smilies/rolleyes.gif)
