52.662, 13th in the world with Neanderthal now also into the 52's.

'Moff now to see Interpol at the Astoria, I expect to see my time thoroughly demolished by the time I get home, there is plenty to be had on this track yet

pffft it's not nice to laugh at the afflicted

The best I could do was a 52.796 before it froze for the 3rd time.
Ed, you need to brake a little earlier on the first corner, will knock off .2-.3 of your lap. Apart from that I couldn't catch you.
I was having massive trouble getting round that long 180deg corner at the far end of the track without lifting off, even using your setup!?
Sadly, even though I don't have the Rings of Death i think this is it for my launch day 360 and Forza 2

Yeah I can beat my ghost into that first bend every time now, but the trick as you say is getting the line right down through the dip to allow you the fastest time around that long right-hander.

Bad news on the 360 tho, I got a disc read error at the weekend, hope mine is also not about to start playing up

Download Ed's ghost, plenty of space for a better time, I kept messing up the first and last corner and still got close.

I managed a 54.341 off about 20 odd laps tonight. I downloaded Your Ghost Edcase. The two areas I lose the time (in the main) Is the apex you take over the second turn (you manage to cut right over it almost ) . And round the long sweeping bend. Did you keep full throttle there or do you lift? I'm still way off but enjoying this challenge.

I seem to remember an almost imperceptible feather of the throttle, something the wheel is really good for.

I tried left foot braking around there, but the wheel is slightly less good at that

Whats your Live tag as I don't think i've got you on my list so not seeing your times on the scoreboard?
Me55iah - I'm sure you were on my FL at one point though

Might change it to B3R84T0V though

I'm making a right ***** up on 2 turns, the first right hander - I keep over braking and turning too late, and the just before the long drag as I keep having to back off the throttle to stop me going out wide...reckon those 2 are costing me about 1 sec.

I'm sure it will turn up. Only 250000 credits if not

Since I've got the wheel I've not gone back to the pad because if I'm quicker (I know I would be) then the wheel will be binned... however I enjoy the game far more which the wheel. when you hook up a lap it's far more satisfying. I've never used a wheel before so I'm sure I can improve a lot over time... I hope. I find with the pad I just make movements and corrections without thinking but at the moment with the wheel I've very aware of the inputs I make.... although I did find last night for about 3 laps I went into a trace like state being drawn into the screen

I had to lift off just turning in to the long sweeper, otherwise it would just understeer off. On Ed's lap he's much quicker through there than I am.
If you look at the leader boards the top 20 are only split by tenths (although the guy at the top go that lap in Multiplayer so prolly wasn't even trying for a record! )

I agree the wheel is so much more fun but I was getting so annoyed with being miles behind everyone else on times that I gave in a tried the pad and proved to myself I could go faster and that its down to needing more practice with the wheel. Thats a lot more practice as all my times are still with full help on or at best turning TCS and STC off. I'm a right mess if I go with everything off, just as well you can't blow the engine with over revving it with manual gears

I know that trance like state from doing 92 straight laps of Mugello Short the other night
With an AWD car I find you can turn of the Stability control and TC and the car is still pretty docile compared to a rear wheel drive beast (TVR's!) I left ABS on because it's forgiving and at the mo it would be so easy for me to mess up a good lap by locking up.

92!

I found on mugello that ABS is just faster, full stop.

Even with 'perfect' braking with no assists, I couldn't beat my clumsiest ABS attempts, which is silly really.

I had a go last night and got 52.753 - Somehow I managed to get .200 or so seconds off my first quarter time against my fastest time but I messed up the last quarter on that lap too much pressure lol

I reckon low 52's are in order by the end of the week

Next time I have a go, I'm going to play with tweaking the gearing and reducing the down force on the spoilers

Low 52's would put us best in the world though
