Did you know that one of the well used ways to transport heroin across borders is to freshly kill a baby and then gut it so the body cavity can be filled with heroin. Then some poor sod can play pretend mother and carry a 'sleeping' baby through customs.
To think that having a personal stash is a 'victimless' or harmless crime is extremely naive. A personal stash has to travel a very long, criminal and exploitative supply chain to make it from the source to the bedroom.

Can't quite work out why anyone hates Doherty either. He's just nothing as far as I'm concerned, I don't like his music but other than that I haven't any feelings whatsoever about him.

It's about time they locked the druggie up.
The vast majority of crime in the UK is drug related, the next time you get your car stolen or house burgled it's more than likely it's going to have drugs involvement somewhere.
He shouldn't be allowed to show kids you can just keep leading a normal life while on drugs, he should have been banged up years ago and made an example of.

Notwithstanding the drugs issue (which in my eyes is not a conservative "guy does drugs....shocker send him to jail" attitude, more a "why should the everyday guy on the street go down for doing similar and he get away with it repeatedly" attitude), I just really think he comes across as a complete pr1ck anyway

I am not sure how not being particular about the Beatles is any calibration of success or otherwise. It may simply be a matter of taste. Hey, some people think Mozart was rubbish and yet he was quite a popularist in his day and his music is still followed the world over.
So my advice to you is get out more, get a life and stop fawning over pseudo-intellectual neurotic boy outsiders and definitely stop sniffing your mothers underwear you egregious little man.

If driving offences means "utter contempt for the law" then half of this site would be locked up.
With regards to the drug use - It's his body, he was caught with a personal stash, not kilos of the stuff, hence he is not being convicted for intent to supply.
I'm not sure where you get the idea he has contempt for other people though.

This wasn't his first offense by far and .. " ... As well as crack cocaine and heroine, he also pleaded guilty to possessing quantities of cannabis and ketamine as well as to two driving offences ..." No MOT and insurance I read somewhere else.
The guy should be banged up with no access to drugs for a long time. But it sums up Britsih Justice at the moment. Where PD gets off for repeated offenses and yet they bang up a 77 year old man for 3 months for taking the rap for his son's speeding ticket!
I'm almost ashamed to admit being British.

But if you have, then you've been in possession and the only difference is that he got caught for it. The point i was making.

B*llux! If he was trying to sort it out he'd be off them. Not getting caught with Class A drugs all the time, not finishing rehab courses and turning up late for court. The guy shows utter contempt for anyone except himself.
As for not taking drugs myself, nope. Never inhaled! The exception was a few naughty **** when I was about 8 - but didn't inhale and as I didn't like them I never had another.

Of course not he buys from dealers backed by the organised crime gangs and syndictes.
The proceeds from which are ploughed into other criminal activities like credit card fraud, high end vehicle theft and lets not forget the people who are exploited and abused on the back of this activity and we wont even mention one of the main exporters are the taliban so he could be funding terrorism.

Agreed.
I have a large circle of friends, workmates and family and although drugs are around I dont know anyone who has taken or inhaled class A drugs or even milder stuff like cocaine.
I'm in my 30's so it may be different for the younger crowd but I dont believe that the majority of the population have used drugs for a second, most of the population are not that stupid.
