Would be fun
It will be a bobby there driving unfortunately as they will need to be ready to respond if necessary..... still at least I get to drive my scoob instead of a clapped out slow astra or whatever they use.... would be good if its t5

Guys, just spoken to the organiser, and he's really grateful for the response, but has asked that a line be drawn, as there's a real danger that this could be oversubscribed.
So, the final line-up for WYIOC attendees is...
Ian
Stevechaps
Stu
Simonbb
Myself, in Dazza's absence.
Thanks from the organisers go to all who showed an interest.
We'll sort out a location and time for the run down in due course

From: Some say he has frost on his helmet...
Just to add somthing that i failed to mention...
The event IS NOT a track day!!! it isn't a chance to drive around Donnington as only a small loop is opened up... no helmets are in use and you have children in the car, nothing more than a quick boot, round a couple of cones and back... Just to dispel any miss conceptions as to whats actually going on. I know there's a chance people could take it the wrong way and expect somthing that wasn't. It appears to have generated a fair bit of interest and there was a good chance of it being hijacked by people thinking it was a full-on drive the track day... IT ISN'T just to set the record straight! It is not intended in any way to be of benefit to the drivers!
I asked Sticky to sort out stuff as I'm away, as i was asked by the organsiser to sort a couple of people I trusted to come along.... If anyone seeks to bypass what i was asked thats fine, but make it very clear, you have absoltutly nothing to do with myself... you have no affiliation with me and I have not in any way recormeded anyone other than what I have told the organsiser. If anything happens, accident, action taken by Donnington support staff etc it MUST have no reflection on myself, simple! (A guy was given a serious ticking off by the Donnington staff last year for getting too carried away) I have no doubt nothing like this will be of any consequence to the people I have recormened... If you have taken it to go it alone make sure you understand the above clearly, as it potentially could affect me, even if its not intended and somthing out of your control happens...

sorry to get rather legal but it had to be said...

Cool if you can manage it - bet you get the biggest queue for a ride if you do - perhaps we can do a blue's and two's pursuit of a Scoob round the track?

No you wasn't Dave, its not a track day and all the organisers wanted was some interesting cars; last year there were NO Subaru's... There were a few Ferrari's, Atoms proche's and such, i.e. interesting stuff to take the kids for a ride in... if i didn't had the Atom then there would have been no involvement from me... I really hope you do didn't think you weren't welcome because that's not the case.. you and I would have been more that welcome in something that would have made an interesting ride for the kids and the organisers... as it stands; when all i have is a Renault Scenic then i won't be going!!! but would like to be involved in sorting some good rides out for the kids...
There was absolutely no intention to put anyone to one side, and I hope you didn't take my little bit of fun seriously, i thought it was obvious that the organisers would have liked rides that were out of the normal... there's no way i could have expected to take the Scenic and I thought taking the Fvrs would have been the same... really sorry if you though i was being selective but really i wasn't...
best regards
Darren

Right guys, to clarify...
Meeting at Wooley Edge for 7am to get to Donno for 9.
Not too sure what fuel requirements are, but Woodall services (Just south of M18) have Shell, and Donnington services have BP Ultimate, so there shouldn't be any issues.
See you all there, should be an interesting little convoy

Just Emailed Russell - Sticky, do you know if it's still on tomorrow?
Hi Russell,
Given the weather forecast, is tomorrow still on?
I can be there, rain or shine but just thinking of the kids standing in the rain & getting cold is all...
Ian
Forecast is: Periods of rain; breezy in the afternoon. Winds from the N at 22 km/h.

Not heard anything to suggest it's been cancelled.
If it is raining then the kids will stay inside the hospitality suite, the cars collect and drop off right outside the door anyhow, so weather shouldn't be an issue.

Got a reply from Russell:
Hi Ian
Thanks for your message. We are watching the forecasts very closely!
It suggests that the morning will be grey with rain after lunch.
We have decided to press on with the event. At worst the Ariel Atoms and Caterhams won't appear but we will still have a number of hard-tops or covered tops. The children will be based in the Paddock Suite Hospitality room and can be called out when it is their turn (if the weather is really bad). We have a large Scalextric, face painters etc so I think we can keep them amused for short spells.
Hope this is OK with you and look forward to meeting with you tomorrow.
Regards
Russell
