Two old friends had seriously quick cars.
The 1st a 400bhp rwd cossie i've only been a passenger in that and that was unbelievably fast and a handful.
The 2nd i did drive, a 300bhp escort Rs turbo that was absolutely scary as **** the torque steer and lack of grip @ the front wheels would have put the wind up the stig

My o/h has a 500bhp s4. At 175mph I **** my pants and eased off! The previous owner lived in a dodgyish area and put a TDI badge on the back which we left on it...I "embarrased" a car full of lads in an evo 6 the other wk and they looked very confused

Had a few quick motors over the years but the quickest was my Escort Cosworth (320 bhp) and now currently my Impreza which has PPP fitted, nicely does it
.
However i've driven quite a few beasts over many years, namely ;
Honda NSX, Porsche 996 turbo, Aston martin V8, Vanquish, DB9 and DBS,
Quickest car i've been in with someone else driving was a 6R4, mate of mine had a road legal one and did not bother racing cars, only fast bikes

I have seen a 6r4 up close and personal drive **** out from a little chef after finishing tour of cornwall, one damn impressive machine
Fastest ive driven, my 309gti about 220hp, went bonkers when on cam, an elise 191r driver got the shock of his life one day![Big Grin](images/smilies/biggrin.gif)
Fastest ive sat in, mate's 360hp evo6 gsr that thing was a time machine, very focused but also rather lifeless, for all it's speed it had very little soul and spent most of it's life being serviced

Lotus Esprit V8 twin turbo - it was on a soaking wet track in torrential rain, but being foolish (and young) felt I needed to make the most of it, so 165 through about 1/2" of water, then **** end out action (easier than in an Elise or Caterham - both with 190bhp K-series) round a hairpin - BIG grin time!

Atom supercharged 300 - got an invite as my other arfs Dad supplies parts to Honda racing and had a blast at one round brands hatch. Apparently it does 0-100 in 7 seconds seemed a lot quicker than that to me. If only I could afford one

Not the fastest, but by far the most lairy was a TVR Griffith 500. I was an apprentice estate agent and a local conveyancing solicitor let me have the keys as a sweetener for pasing business his way. Sideways in a straight line anyone?

I've driven a few quick cars including a ferrari 355 challenge, porsche 911,RS4, Lotus exige, my own 420bhp R34 GTR V-spec. I would honestly say my current mk 2 type 25 is the quickest thing I've driven. I probably need to drive some of these light weight caterhams or westfields to feel what is genuinely quick, but I'm probably too big to fit in one.
