Nice one. Seeing as Lesley (Enigma) wants a virtual cue, I may as well buy some chalk from you for the same price.
Please pm your paypal to Enigma and we will send the £100 this evening, if you don't have paypal, pm your address, will send cheque.
Whatever you both decide/have to do has no bearing on this offer.

Just to add to the above - post your paypal account...
I think the goal of most people on here is that the ultimate decision that you or don't have to make is not impacted by the financial side of things...
I hope you've got a lot of this virtual chalk...

Ok, this is becoming a little too much for us to deal with at the moment
I have just filled up and tears rolling down my face at the offers
I have spoke with Scoobynet management, and I will set something up, but what we want to do is to wait until we get Scooby's results back from the Aspergillosis tests, and then to see what further treatment is needed and what the cost of that will be, we can and have covered most of Scooby's costs upto now, and I have all the bills in front of me
As things stand at the moment, it is so so difficult to put any kind of estimate on what the costs will be, as it largely depends on Scooby himself not having any more nose bleeds and frightening us all to death![Frown](images/smilies/frown.gif)
If we do this, we want to do it properly, and for this we need to know what the costs are likely to be to give us some idea of a target to reach, I just so wish (and the Vets do too, as I would guess do most if not all people on here) he would stop the bleeding and get himself better again
It is a massive unkown though, it really is, the prime example of this was this morning
Scooby was in the house, as normal, kids playing about the house, Donna sorting some washing out, me getting in the shower, Scooby absolutely fine, then he sneezed once or twice, and then wham blood all over the carpet and panic stations then, Donna got him in the conservatory whilst I phoned the ER vets, he threw up a lot more blood, and then gargling sneezing and coughing blood every where
That all happened in the space of about 10 minutes
i am going to have to contact the Vets to see if they do some kind of emergency call out, as I am back at work tomorrow, and wont really be in a position to nip home and take him to the vets, Donna doesn't drive and it would be incredibly unlikely that a taxi would allow him in the car, for health & safety reasons also
This really is ours and the Vets concern

I am hoping we get the results back tomorrow
the Vet told me today that Aspergillosis results usually take around 6 days, but it does depend on when the cycle of tests is done, as they don't do them every day, and although they were sent off on Monday, the tests may not be done until tuesdays or wednesdays for example
I am hoping they are back tomorrow, so at least we will know if it is that or not, I am a little concerned what happens next if it turns out not to be Aspergillosis
I think we would almost certainly be looking at some kind of referral to university, which is when the cost rockets

Not sure if its any consolation but my grandparents dog "chummy" had Aspergillosis and made a full recovery
down here In Cornwall having crap loads of woodland the vets reckoned he picked it up from walks in the woods as the fungi that cause the condition thrive in these conditions. Sorry if its been posted before but have not read through the whole thread.

Several of the Vets we have spoken with, and also some googling about treatment for Aspergillosis have mixed results
The tablet form (8 week course) has a success rate of about 50-70% the surgical procedure is about 65-70% (a 10 day course of hospitalisation IIRC)
They have all said it is very difficult to treat and generally most dogs do recover fully, but it is which treatment that will work the most effective is what they arent 100% sure about
It does appear to be quite a mixed opinion, however my Vet did say that if the results come back positive, then he will spend some time researching the best option, as he has only had 3 cases of it in 22 years of practising, so has not been something he has kept too upto date with treatment wise
But what he is saying is pretty much what others and the Net have said too
Oh, and Donna said any nekkid pics will have to posted on a thread on here

Thats a good sign then KoT, no one else has posted anything about their own dogs having Aspergillosis, or not that I can recall at least, do you know which treatment 'chummy' had ?

Thanks KoT
Im pretty sure the Vet told me it is also known as Farmers Lung in humans, as some farmers do get it, as they cut the fields and the mould (Aspergillosis) grows in the cut grass (not our common garden grass) and they then breathe in the spores and catch it
We do have a lot of farmers fields around here, so I guess it isn't uncommon for it to be in the air around here, and Scooby was unfortunate to catch it
the Vet told us for tablet treatment we are looking at around £1000, and referral upwards of £1500 plus, depending on which treatment could be carried out at the Uni
This is only affecting his left nostril, and the blood in his mouth and right nostril are because the left nostril has clogged/clotted up

I do have an account setup, but I want to wait until I know what treatment costs we will be faced with once his results are back which I am hoping will be tomorrow
Once I know this, I will be setting up a thread as I have spoke with Simon about this, and he has agreed, there is a post in policy about it, but I only want to do it once we know for definate the treatment costs

Just phoned the Vets again to check up
Scooby has had another nose bleed this evening, but only a small one, and not as big a one as he had this afternoon at 3pm
His sedative has worn off now, so he is a little more lively than he and has eaten some food, they are just about to do their night checks, but have my number just in case
I have to collect him at 7am and bring him home, and then will have to play it by ear throughout the day, but Ive asked Donna to give him a sedative when she gets up just to keep his blood pressure down, and keep him calm until I get him to his normal vets for his appointment at 5.40

Thanks all
Just a quick update, as I have to go into a meeting
Picked Scooby up this morning, and he was quite lively, although his right nostril is black through clotted blood, his left nostril still had some fresh blood![Frown](images/smilies/frown.gif)
They told me he may well have another nose bleed today, but it shouldnt be much if he does
We have to give him the anit-biotics and he will need another sedative this morning just to keep him calm and lower his blood pressure, until I take him back to the vets this evening for his booked appointment

I would just like to say (if people have not seen the relevant threads) that Steve and Donna are true animal lovers.
Just after christmas, a little Staffy bull terrier wandered up there drive looking very ill, thin, bleeding from his paws.
They nursed him back to health for 6 weeks, tried to find the original owners with no luck, then asked on here if anybody wanted him.
I took him on and he is as fit as a fiddle - mainly thanks to Steve and Donna.
Despite my efforts, they refused to take any money whatsoever at the time i had him off them.
