Okay then mate, you know how it is.
If you can tell me why i need to spend X amount on a set of flaps from Scott Lowe then i'll spend the money no problem.
Can you justify it?
The flaps on my car have stainless brackets and fixings and are identical to the SL ones with regards to their design and pattern.
Why spend £150 on SL flaps??

Well whats with the head banging then??
Lets have it right, im not shy about spending money on my car and it always gets the best i can afford.
But im no mug either and you have clearly failed to justify your comments as to why i should spend over £150 for an item i can buy for £60.
Or have i missed something?

dude,I've tried the budget mudflaps. The quality is laughable to be honest and in no time at all they curl up and look like Tesco plastic bags dangling beneath your car..there is quite simply no comparison

I was asking a genuine question. Im fed up of them but you lot have convinced me that theyre worth keeping for protection alone. I was also genuinely interested in more pics of the SL ones as the pics on his site aint all that.
My car is stickered for a reason, trust me mate i liked it just as much without any graphics.

Frayz, I paid a bit extra for the Performance Creations Kaylan flaps which are stiffer than the old PVC ones I had on 53WRX (which were perfectly adequate !). I am not a fan of the CF for no other reason than personal taste and I don't know if they would offer more protection. However, this time round I went for something which was less flappy at speed so the shape of the flap remained effective. They are very nice quality as we have come to expect from PC's.
In regards to an earlier poster, cars other than subarus are fitted with flaps, and most manufacturers offer them as accessories. The fact that people choose not to fit them is lack of understanding about the effects of debris on their paintwork and effect on the poor car behind who can't see Fk all from the water you are spraying up, not to mention the stones.

I had to phone Ian for them, they make them for the Ford Focus but subarus aren't listed on the site.

I know what you mean mate, I had Blue STI flaps on a WR Blue STI and after awhile I hated them. Now I've got a Crystal Grey STI with Black Prodrive ones on it and its much more discreet. I only have them for protection bit if it was me I would keep them as they look ok on your car.

If I was looking at a car with 15k and it was blitzed by stone chips down the side then I wouldn't buy the car as it's obviously been driven hard over stoney/gravelly ground. My current Impreza has over 90k on the clock without masses of chips down the sides. No flaps on it at all. If the consequences of having no flaps is to shine a torch at my car door in the dead of night to see stone chips, then TBH I'm not that bothered.
Chipping to the front is a much more serious issue for Imprezas but I've yet to see some wally with one of those ridiculous car bras on the front.
