Just use it mate - Helis 5-40 is fine, have used it for 4 years in my classic, with no problems. However the sausage wont taste as good.

Vauxhall are doing a special offer on Shell Helix Ultra at the moment: Buy six litres get one litre free ....

Problem is the extra litre is put into the sump. (he says after having to drain a litre of surplus oil from his Monaro )

5w40 is too thin (according to some experts) for classic shape scoobs.

I was warned about it being a 5 litre and not to overfil.

Yes, they never seem very forthcomming with their reasoning when 10w-40 is the same thickness as 5w-40 at 100 degrees C.

Providing it is changed regularly enough, which at 6months intervals on a normally driven standard car is more than plenty for a full synthetic (which almost all 5w-40 oils are).
