Not bad, Not bad, but was definatly missing a story line!!!!.
The CGI, was too CGI if you know what I mean. For the money they spent, it could have been a lot better.

Oh for Pete's sake...... those moaners don't get it do they ?
Its a fun film, suspension of reality is required. I thought it was a good entertaining couple of hours. I wasn't expecting Shakespeare.

Love the quote on the pic. Sorry love, but if you feature in a magazine wearing nowt but your undercrackers, what do you expect?
Shes hot but doesn't impress as an actress. Sadly her and Shia will be in TF2 - only thing we can hope for is they give TF2 to someone other than Michael Bay.
Anyone notice when Rachet fell to earth the fat kid with the video camera says "This is way more awesome than Armageddon" - Oh Mr Bay, you ego-inflated wan*er. Didn't mention the Island or Pearl Necklace did he, eh?

I sore it last week, if you want to see a special effects bonanza with some great CGI then go see, personally I'm going to see it again this week
I'm sorry, but people who knock it for its plot/storyline whatever.....its a bloody Transformers film!! doh! what do you expect! its for kids!, small and big
Transformers is a film to go and switch off too, a film to just sit back, regress back to being ten and enjoy
, who gives a toss if its got massive plot holes? its a film with giant transforming robots from space!, and they are rendered in a truly masterful way it must be said
, big thumbs up to the guys who did the CGI
Enjoyment 10/10

The guys who get to work on things such as the main robots in Transformers are kings of there field in CGI, there's a lot of top class competition to work on projects like that, guys like me and my mates could only dream to get to that level.
CGI has moved on so much now, its getting very close to real life but that's when it gets tricky and true real life CGI is a long way of yet, which is why most CG films have some kind of stylistic approach, it believability that's important not realism, all that have tried to make something look real have failed.

It gets a 7.9 on IMDB which is a pretty high score. Anything over 8.0 on their index is pretty landmark.
Certainly any film over 7.0 is worth a try.
For reference Bay's films are not exactly the top of the game!
The Island - 6.9
Pearl Harbour - 5.3
Texas Chainsaw - 5.9
Bad Boys II - 6.1
Armageddon - 5.8
The Rock - 7.1

Went to see it and I'm going again. Loved it, absolutely loved it. Been a child of the 80s, this is the only film I wanted to be released into modern time. I've always like Transformers (yes I am a big kid and I don't care!) I can't wait for the second one, rumour has it on Transformers The Movie is that they are already working on the second film, which will include a significant role for Soundwave. He was originally going to be in this one but they couldn't get a good enough role in the plot so they're waiting to put him in the next one.
Only gripe is....Spoiler alert - skip this post from this point if you haven't seen the film yet!
...that they killed off one of the main robot characters (Jazz) in the film almost straight away in the fight scene. He was one of the main and popular characters in the original series, to kill him off in the first movie was just wrong.

FFS!!!!
People moaning about the storyline??
It's a film about extra terrestrial robot things that take the form of other things and then fight eachother.........hardly real-life now is it??
Sit back and enjoy it for what it is....ENTERTAINMENT!!!!!
All fookin Michael Winner's now are we? Calm down dear, it's only a movie!!
I have one very important question though..........are there any sharks with frikkin laser beams attached to their heads?

Have another SPOILER
Why do you think Prime takes a bit of the All Spark. The voice actor for Jazz blurted out in an interview Transformers can be rebuilt.
Not sure on Soundwave. Some are hoping for Dinobots and Constructicons (to form a gestalt: Devastator).

Fanboi alert more like. My collection is worth more than my Plasma telly
I've recently sold my scoob and I've been so tempted to blow a chunk of it on TFs. I'd be hung is the wife knew how much I have spent on them this month!
I collect the rare ones (repaints, mint in box from the 80s, chinese knock offs etc)
They are one of the most collectabe toys around and have overtaken Star Wars figures in the "Insanely expensive ebay auctions" I bid Ł1200 on a collection and still failed to win![EEK!](images/smilies/eek.gif)
One collection in the US went for $1M on ebay. A sick husband bought one and when he died his wife continued to buy them.

Saw it this afternoon my family and well...I thought the whole point of TF was good vs bad robots, not American Forces vs bad robots with a few good robots trying to lending a hand.
The lad acted just like he does in "Even Stevens" - a mildly amusing sitcom, but he didn't stretch himself at all.
The fast action carried the film in the end.

I was trying not to expect much as my fave cartoon as a kid. But I was actually really impressed. Loved the battle at the start where the decepticon helicopter took out the US Army Base in Qatar.
Yes there were cheesy parts but its pitched as a family film.
Loved the fact the original voice for Prime was kept - just a shame about Megatron. Is there a political reason Frank didnt do it as I see he even does Megatrons voice in this years Transforms video game?
Deffo one I will be getting on DVD.

The voices that still sounded the same as the animated series are Peter Cullen's and Charles Adler's, who originally did the voice for Silverbolt, now does the voice for Starscream in this movie.

Nothing politcal or anything like that, according to IMDB, they got all of the original cast back in to audition for their roles of the characters but unfortunately their voices had aged and changed over time, including Frank Welker's so they didn't sound the same as back then and Welkers voice didn't match Megatrons new look. Still think Hugo Weaving did a brilliant job of voicing Megatron.

I actually thought Prime didn't sound very much like Prime (ie Cullen). The voice had none of the John Wayne style voicing that Cullen did in the cartoons.
I've got to stop blaming Bay for all the things I didn't like with the film. Then again

I watched Die Hard 4 last night and as much as I love my Transformers (I have them in their boxes displayed in the front room much to Mrs Eddscotts disgust) I liked it more than Transformers.
