A long line of slow-moving traffic on a long, straight B road with no opposite traffic....dropped a cog in my old turbo PPP and floored it.......only to realise the problem.....slooooow traffic car leading the way FFS!
Hit the anchors, left indicator on.....but no ****er would let me in......and the obligatory van load of builders were truly pissing themselves......ended up turning right up some farmer's track to escape the cringe-making embarrassment!

When I was 17 went out in my dads rwd motor one night with my mates in and pulled the most ridiculous wheelspin on damp road pulling out of junction. As the rev counter needle was bouncing in the red zone in second gear I noticed a figure with a pointy helmet standing maybe 50 yards ahead.(no it wasn't Harry Potter) Yes it was a copper! I locked all fours wheels up and stopped just in time. My heart was racing as copper told me to get out of car. He asked me who paid for tyres on car then lectured me on braking distances etc. Luckily he saw the funny side as I was shaking like a leaf and crapping myself. Told me not to be so stupid again and off he went.

Cool

Pre-scoob; was passenger in a mates Mitsi Sigma GSR (80's FWD turbo sedan)
He was showing me the most amazing tech ever... a turbo timer (lol it was 1990).. so he pulls out the keys while were driving down the road to show me how it all works!! all is well untill he boots it and steers around the car in front and..... 'click' you quessed it.. as were overtaking the car at 70Mph the steering lock cuts in... eeek we're now traveling towards the opposite curb with all four wheels fully locked up, me screaming like a school girl with my fingernails firmly embedded into the dash ! - neatly cut two wheels in half and crunched the drivers wing, both scared sh*tless.

Scoob; dropping a customer back to his work in my scoob, pulled up outside large glass fronted cafe to let him out, and decided to do a U turn with a boot full and forgot that I'd updated the rear diff to the mechanical LSD ;0 so instead of a gracefull drift I did a huge 360 taking up all four lanes of the road (thank god it was quiet)... I just kept going in the wrong direction.. total muppet ;p

when i was about 19 i had a rs turbo in mercury grey in fact i liked them that much i had 2 1 90 spec the other pre 90 spec and i loved driving them everywhere.. 1 night had been ouit all night and decided enough was enough and drove back to my mums where i was living. i mmust have been tired as i never made it out the car and nodded in off in the drivers seat outside the house. a few hours later i was woken uo by a man with a torcxh banging on my window. i wound it down and saw a police man stood there. he asked me to get out the car and explain what i was doing. i did as he asked when a pair of frilly girls knickers fell on the floor.. what had hgappened while i was asleep is my friends had drivin past seen me and played a joke. they had pushed my car into the middle of the road and placed a pair of girls pants on my lap.. so when i steped pout the car like the policeman said i had no idea what had happened. they arrested me and let me go after an hour. they thought imwas either drunkor on drugs... i was on neither,,

18 years old. Driving my Dad's Sierra Saphire Cosworth 4x4, and taking my Mother to the shops. Pulled up to the junction (It was raining by the way) and decided to show my mother how I could get the tail hanging out while pulling out of the junction. Rally styleeeeee
Too much power, rear end stepped out. Thinking I'm a rally driver I kept my foot in and used a bit of corrective lock. All was going well, right up to the point when I hit the Lamppost.

Mother wasn't too impressed, and that Telephone call to tell my dad I'd just crashed his car was one of the worst moments of my life. To make it worse, I'd blocked the whole road and every one from the nearby houses came out to have a look. Between the laughing, round of applause, and shaking of the heads, I felt like a right Pr@t.

Needless to say, it was some year until he let me out in one of his cars by myself.

Mine was back in 99, when Scoobys were still pretty rare, and attracted a lot of attention.

I was leaving a multi story car park, and to get out there was a 90 degree turning right in front of the office. There were about 4 or 5 guys standing outside who all turned for a good look when they saw me coming.

As I went to turn, the car stalled. the power steering cut out (obviously), and I couldn't turn the car enough. I mounted the kerb and stopped about six inches short of the now quite alarmed gentlemen.

I did the reverse of shame and left to a very sarcastic round of cheers and applause.

Yet to have an embarrasing moment in the scoob but have many to speak of!

One time following a night stage at a local rally in my XR2. Being 17 at the time, thinking i'm a rally driver, big set of cibies, big exhaust, you get the idea.
Well me and the missus on the way to the next best viewing point, tearing up some lanes with tree's and bushes either side and spectators start taking photo's.
Blinded and startled by the flashing we go off road, up a small bank, through some bushes, a pile of ferns, some very rough bumps and narrowly avoiding some hefty tree's!

Stopped, composed ourselves, reversed out and sheepishly chugged off with the locals rolling around on the floor.

I also own a Golf MK2 GTI as my every day run around and park it behind my Scooby in the driveway, anyway, one weekend morning last year, jumped into the Scooby still half asleep and proceeded to reverse my own car into my own car with the Scooby coming off worse.
What a donkey!!!

Luckily no one saw it.

a few weeks back in my standard 07 WRX driving up to liverpool and i ALMOST got owned by a modded 330d estate. they're quick enough standard but this thing stayed with me all the way....JUST outdragged me on the straights (big, long, empty dual carriageway) but i made up for it on the roundabouts in between and we swopped positions back and forth for a while. all good clean harmless fun. next morning first thing, annoyed that an oil burner was right on me with all his bloody torque, i phoned my dealer and booked the car in for the prodrive kit. 5 days later, PPP kit installed and the car felt SOOOO much better. like it should have felt out of the box IMO. chuffed with myself and my rapid new motor, off I go up the M3 to see a mate. as per usual it seems when you drive a scooby, some kid in a suped up Civic Type R starts messin around. a few roll ons later and he realised he was embarrassing himself and gave up. He pulls over a lane and I give it beans past him. There's me all chuffed, feelin invincible...."nothing can touch me in this motor", accelerating towards the horizon....then I checked my rear view mirror. FULL of LEDs and the front of an Audi R8. I move over and keep it nailed. Tremendous roar from behind me...next to me.....in front of me......R8 gone. Next thing I know the Civic is next to me with a big cheesy grin on his face......givin me that look......."I got owned but you just got owned SOOO much better than I've ever been". LOL. Audi R8 -
God damn supercars......GRRRRRRR. Wish I'd been in my old man's 540bhp RS6...now THAT'S an Autobahn kind of car.
