Sadly, kids will take the mick out of each other for a start.I got plenty of stick for having a name a bit different to everyone else at school and I hated it! Same for the only lad at school called Clive.

This might be really sad, biased or unfair but it is reasonably true:-

Most electricians builders plumbers etc have a name from a certain group of names

Most lawyers doctors accountants have a name from a different group

Pretty rubbish example but more often than not,Dave delivers the milk and James Edward or Henry is your accountant.

Just seems to be the way it is

Cars is definately a different thing altogether.Everyone owns a BMW so it is pretty hard to work out if they are well to do/nice/intelligent or not.

Bottom line....we should not judge.....but we all do to an extent.Clothes/cars/names/possessions.A very materialistic, selfish and pretty crappy society(down to no one going to Church anymore but that debate is elsewhere too )

C'mon. You can't make a post like that and not tell us your name. I mean it can't be as bad as Clive, can it?

I used to judge people and was in danger of becoming a complete turd - wealthy dad, good private school, etc.

Then we moved to Cornwall (from Surrey), lost a lot of money and suddenly the tables were turned.
Best thing my parents ever did as me and my sisters now have a very rounded view of life.

It's called learning, and if at full adult age, people are still as judgemental as when they were uppity youngs teens (or in many cases MORE judgemental), then they really should be put down.
These people are the genuine scourge of society as, unlike immigrants, single mums, chavs, etc, they actually wield some power and use it to their own ends.

A great example being those in Dorking, Surrey who protested against a small development for wounded war veterans to be housed and rehabilitated in their area (big semi country houses - the sort of area we moved away from in 1989)- I have nothing but contempt for these kinds of people and am glad they were publicly humiliated on national TV.

Ah, slightly old fashioned name perhaps - But it definitely has cool value, especially when using the shortened version.

It just goes to show that people like Infractme are indeed complete Muppet's. The type of person who when given a job with authority abuses that authority for their own self gratification. Probably the very same people who were picked on at school.

Perhaps the real reason Infractme doesn't want to disclose his real name is because it's a posh toff name, like Cedric, or Arther. Being kicked up the @rse every day while at school has obviously had a lasting effect on his life.

You know Wayne before commenting you should really try reading the thread. Just because your name is Wayne I haven't assumed you're an idiot who opens his mouth without thinking. I've allowed you to prove it with your words.

As far as I'm aware I've never discriminated against anyone because of their name. However I believe it's a fact that in some circumstances some people do which is what I've said all along.

Sadly my name isn't 'a posh toff name' otherwise I might be even more fantastically wealthy and succesful than I already am.

Someone else who either doesn't read the posts, or doesn't get the point.

I don't think anyone on here has stated that they assume person to be a chav because they have a name associated with chav society.

What has been stated, evidenced and now even Matt agrees, is that people will judge others based upon the name they are given.

Like it or not, and using the most basic example, "chav" parents tend to give their kids "chav" names. "Toff" parents tend to giv etheir kids "Toff" names.

Someone posted this point above. It happens. As a result, many will hear a "chav/toff" name and, by association, assume that person to be a "Chav" or a "Toff". Its not right to judge, but I can understand why people do it.

There are of course exceptions to this - I believe you may be one yourself, but you'll be hard pushed to find many Cedrics, Quentins or Camillas attending some crappy inner city comprehensive just as there wont be that many Chantals, Waynes (no offence intended) or Kylies at Eaton.

On the basis that you have just associated all immigrants and single mums with being a scourge upon society, Matt, I'd say you are still some way off from avoiding "complete turd" status

You've just generalised and been hugely judgemental without due cause.

In your own words, that would make you "a complete waste of time"

I don't consider them a scourge as is clear in my post - others do.
Just like I don't consider any names to matter, whereas you do.

You can keep on trying to trip me up if you'd like. It's quite amusing.

Matt,

I'm not trying to trip you up - you manage that quite well all by yourself.

If you don't consider them a scourge, your use of the english langage is, frankly, appalling and there is nothing "clear" in your post to say what you are now suggesting. It reads that all are a scourge, but single mums, immigrants and chavs less so and don't wield power.

If you believe your post clearly indicates that you don't but others do, then I would suggest from your written communication skills as evident on this BBS that media/communications and PR may well be the wrong job. You seem to let your emotions get in the way of clear communication - that is also evident from the insults and tone of your posts.

Either that or you are simply backtracking.

For someone who claims to be leading the life of the laid back surfer dude, that's quite ironic. Chill Matt, you'll live longer and won't have to resort to threatening other members of the board wth physical violence

Having said that, I've never dealt with anyone in that line of work who does anything other than try and fog over the facts or apply some degree of useless "waffle" so perhaps you are doing exactly what you are best suited to

To be honest Devildog, I can't be bothered.
Anything I write is twisted.

You seem to have a rather worrying knowledge of me, built up by clocking everything I have ever posted here. I could try and work out who you "used" to sign in as, seeing as you have either been banned in the past or are simply terrified of anyone knowing who you are, but again, I can't be bothered.

So sorry to disappoint - you carry on with your stalking behaviour, your judgement of a line of work you know nothing about, your insults, patronisation and waffle, I'll carry on making a decent living with my "appalling" English skills.

Having given you the benefit of doubt, I will now ignore all your future posts.

It is no secret Matt And despite my best historic efforts ( ) I've never been banned.

If entering into a "discussion" with you on a public BBS is "stalking", then so be it. I only know what you have volunteered, at length, on this BBS. Its hard to miss, to be honest

And by the way, In case you missed it the last time, I'll ask you politely again. Please stop being so quick to judge someone you know nothing about on matters which cannot be judged from the evidence presented.

Having given you the benefit of doubt, I will now ignore all your future posts.
As is entirely your perogative

Interesting that you use Brad Pitt as an example, his first name is actually William not Brad

Out of interest why did you choose the name 'Charlie' rather than Charles and then contract it yourself? If indeed that's what you've done.

I never gave anyone the name Charlie. That's the name of goalkeeper of his footie team. It says so above.

My son was given an old family name.

What exactly do you mean by 'contract it yourself'?

he means "shorten" it yourself. i think he missed the point that 'charlie' is one of your child's friends rather than your child.

Proof that names are important:

"We're ready to get to work," replied Atlantis commander Brent Jett.
Jessie James was gunned down in the early hours of Saturday close to a public park in Moss Side.
