US PS3
Just got back from Florida, picked up a PS3, extra controller, Blu-ray remote, and two games for $620, so with the exchange rate at the time of purchase ($2.05) it came to just over £300 !!! a bargain.

So US ps3 and 360's will work on our TVs over here just fine ?
I thought that they had a different system over there (NTSC) so you couldn't use one with a PAL TV ? Have I got this all wrong then ? Why does it say PAL on all my 360 games ?

(Most) Modern TVs will work with PAL or NTSC.
Most PSUs are switchable from US to UK Voltage.
YMMV (!)
You are getting a cheap bargain, but it's not warrantied or returnable, unless you are going back to where you bought it from for another holiday/work trip, I guess.
Good way to get it a lot cheaper tho!

I think you might have to buy US games for it, I meant connection to the TV.
If the PS3 is NTSC you need NTSC games. What I meant was that most UK TVs will support both PAL and NTSC signal so you are ok on that side...

I've decided not to bother buying a console from abroad.
Somone mentioned a ninteresting point about online play - namely that an American PS3 will try and connect to American Servers (with US based opponents), whereas I want to play my mates on UK servers! I would've though you could manually configure this aspect, but there you go.
The region locked Blu-Ray movies are no big deal.

No you don't. All PS3 games are region free. However, BluRay movies aren't.
