UK car with PPP fitted pushing 249bhp, standing 1/4 mile whilst bogging the turbo down and not giving the car total abuse, 13.92, ive seen a standard uk my99 with just an exhaust (cat back!) push 13.32.... an S3 may be able to get 330bhp out of its engine, so what do you think a scoob can? ive heard of 600hp ones in australia... and even CraigH's old car was capable of 100 in 9.5 secs
and id say that had around 370bhp ![Big Grin](images/smilies/biggrin.gif)

Bison, you guys are welcome anyway ![Smile](images/smilies/smile.gif)
S3's are great cars BTW ... a bit underestimated I think - even standard.
Would I buy one ? No (I don't fit in
), and they are bloody expensive, unlike my jap cr@p ![Wink](images/smilies/wink.gif)
Do I respect them ? Big yes. Same goes for RS4's.

Oh and Tony, no offense meant ... but same driver, the RS4 will trash your PPP car, no question about it. You will be about 7 seconds slower from 0 to 120 MPH. Trust me on this one.

Theo,
Have to agree with you. I have driven all Audi's S cars (apart from S8) and the RS4 is bloody quick.. but amazingly refined at the same time.
If the RS4 driver had wanted to take you he could.. lets leave it at that!
during my drive i joined about 200 meters of dual-carrage-way at about 40mph, by the time the turn in came I was doing at least 120mph and it was still pulling. The other amazing thing about the RS4 is the road holding.. it really inspires confidence!

Tony - VAG warrenty... who cares? as long as my dealer is happy to fix things under warrenty? besides you've got too used to scoobys... audi's don't go bang? (i know that my k04 is going to go pop this afternoon now - ta!!)
and don't be trying to have the whole audi v's scooby faster car competition.. as we ALL know who wins... admitidly its not going to be an s3 though! saying that the scooby that does 100kph in under 4 is pretty impessive... what did it do 100mph in?

Funnily enough guys I had a great race with a '98 WRX from 60mph upto about 140mph and the S3 was certainly quicker in fifth from 100 upwards! The only thing was that he had two more people in his car than me, but my point being that standard Scoob and Standard S3 are pretty similar at higher speed. Although the Scoob will be quicker to 60 after that it is neck and neck. Ithink you would get a better top speed from the S3 (pretty irrelevant I know!
).

The RS4 driver WAS trying
and it was also from a rolling start to around 70mph so not going to be alot in it but also look at the power to weight of both a PPP'd Scoob and an RS4, there isnt going to be much in that either! Its the mid range where the RS4 dominates but otherwise they are going to keep having shocks ![Wink](images/smilies/wink.gif)
CraigH's STI5 did sub 4 to 60 and 9.5 to 100mph, the std sti is quoted at 11 secs to 100mph![Big Grin](images/smilies/biggrin.gif)
Tony![Big Grin](images/smilies/biggrin.gif)
PS, not going to work out the power to weight ratios but look at 1245kg and 250BHP for a PPP'd scoob and around 16-1700kg for an RS4 with around 360bhp and see how much difference there is...![Wink](images/smilies/wink.gif)

actually forget those figuers as i worked them out on what you said and an rs4 is 380 not 360 bhp
an RS4's power to weight ratio is about 15% more powerful than an sti
sti 89bhp per 1000lbs
rs4 106bhp per 1000lbs
and don't even get me started on how an rs4 generates 325lb/ft of torque between 2500-6000 rpm's! great but could really do with a remap as its blatently not using those twin turbos...

Bison,
just make sure that you used 276bhp as the quoted figure for an STI and that subaru's performance quotes for their cars are really excellent (look at northern and see the std my95 type RA which should be 250bhp but pushes out 290odd!)![Wink](images/smilies/wink.gif)
