Pete, the Takahashi importer is just down the road from you. Quality stuff, might need to raid the piggy bank first though

I'd agree. I have pair of 10x50 Grampian Rover wide field of view binocs I've had for 25 years. They're the dogs danglies. Any more powerful and a tripod is essential - speaking from experience as a former Coastguard.
