Personally, I don't think slapping her car is that big a deal.

I would go into the police station and play up on how terrified you were and that you slapped her car in sheer terror. Say how agressively she was driving to make sure you couldn't move into a gap in very slow moving traffic. Also make sure you emphasise the racial abuse as well. Act as timid as possible.

I honestly can't see what you did wrong compared to her. You were both driving without due consideration for other road users.

If someone barrelled up the inside lane, then tried to push in,i would block the driver off too..

Then if the driver slapped my car at the same time as i was being shouted at,i would either......

A....Get out and bitch slap you, like your mama should have done to learn you some respect..
B.... Get in touch with the cops and make you crap your pants for a week or two..

Any of the above 2 may try and stop you pushing into traffic again, and make you have a little foresight while driving on the road..

It does all sound like fuss over nothing, but if you look at it from the other side -

She's driving along, coming up to the roundabout and closing the gap to the car in front as the traffic slows down. Suddenly some impatient muppet in the other lane who has got stuck behind a lorry pulls out into your lane to try and force their way in rather than waiting, then when you stop, they slap your car...

She had the right of way, you tried to barge in, then because she didnt treat you like a god of the road and let you in, you slapped her car - your obviously a selfish, impatient person, and if you would physically hit someone elses car, how much more encouragement would you need to get out and punch the driver ?

OK, this may not be the whole picture, and not how you see it from your side, but this may well be how it happened in her head.

FWIW you know you should have waited in your lane, indicated and waited for either a natural gap in the traffic or for someone to stop and let you out as you didnt have right of way at the time - simple road manners rather than trying to edge into the other lane.

Personally I would have flashed you out if there was a gap, as the traffic was stopping at the roundabout anyway, and it wouldnt make any difference to me - but thats road manners as well, but sadly a lot of people are very selfish when driving and dont seem to notice or consider other drivers in the same way they would if they were walking down the road and someone stepped in front of them.

Always look at such matters from the perspective of the other driver...

To her, it seems, she thought that you were trying to be a smart as$ getting as far down the bus lane as you could before what she misinterpreted as you queue jumping / cutting her up / driving like a sales rep. Not being obliged to let you in, she chose not to, so you started to try and force your way in to a gap that wasnt yours... Then when the gap was firmly shut, you leant out of your car and smacked her car
Scared, she shouted at you and then the matter ended... So from where she was sat, a mentalist male queue jumper assaulted the car of an innocent solo female...

That is how she will see it and how, based on that series of events the police would see it too.

My advise would be to go to the police station, tell them your side of the story, either way, all you will get is a finger wagging ticking off and a lesson in more patience on the road maybe...
Nice
