Not sure about that. Neighbour had some clown park right across their drive entrance last weekend. Car half on the pavent, over a dropped curb. Neighbours car in the garage, couldn't get out to go to work. Called plod, who turned up 10 minutes later, PNC, found out it belonged to somebody up the road, made them come down, move the car and appologise to the neighbour. Plod said if it happens again, let them know and they'll come and slap a ticket on it.

in a nutshell a guy across the road from me regurlarly buys knackered cars and does them up to sell for a little profit.

currently he has a camper van in his front garden, a gold gti parked on the street his missus uses, a jeep cherokee parked on the street he uses. a beetle on the street, he uses, and a rover coupe he uses sometimes. so usually he has 4/5 cars parked all over the place.

its not a council estate, just a normal street, people with mortgages, and a few houses/flats for rent by private owners.

ive seen him blatantly selling these cars off, even counting cash outside in full view, and i also believe he was one of the bastids who complained to enviromental health when i put up a security light for one night.

if he has 4/5 cars out on the road (mainly terraced houses by the way), can i shop him for basically taking the ****?

Contact the council. AFAIK you cannot use a private residence to run a car sales business. Friend of mien ahd this happend, the council sent someone round, sorted.

thankyou for that. its pretty obvious he sells cars like this, as various people have been seen to come round to his house, and drive the same car. not relatives etc, and always has several cars about the front.

Think I might start doing that...the amount of home-based dealers I keep seeing in Autotrader is starting to annoy me. (nothing to do with parking problems, but another personal gripe of mine ).

So we agree on that point at least lol
Thats what I said, if there is a car ON the drive, as in its egress is blocked.

Might have changed but it used to be the case, that access was not an issue but egress was.
Possibly depends on local councils too.

Snap! The only houses we actually viewed had off street parking for at least one car and a garage a good size car would fit in.

We have a guy here, a German () who takes it upon himself each evening to go along the road outside our apartment and write a handwritten note on each screen pointing out it's a single yellow line and he's reporting the car to the police. Thing is, he doesn't even live in our road and cars are parked on the yellow (quite safely, I hasten to add) because during summer months here the place is packed with tourists and there is nowhere else to park. Needless to say, the Police aren't bothered and are probably pretty pissed off with this guy as well, but this guy has just made a huge dick of himself. It's a global problem...cars and neighbours!

I dont think anyone has the right to stop anyone from parking in a legal manner outside your house as long as thay are not causing any obstruction. You have no special legal right of possession of the parking area.

You can park where you like as long as it's legal and your car's taxed an insured.

Get over it, or buy yourself another car and leave it where they park theirs. Bit of an expensive thing to do just out of spite though

where i used to live, they ran a burger van business, they used to park one van right upto the drop down kerb, one in front of that then the actual burger van the other sid eof my drop kerb, reversing out was hard, couldnt see a thing, nearly had a few crashes cause of it.

i found out u cant park vans on the road, they need to be off the road, never did anything about that tho.

in the end i got an old heap with 12 mths tax on it and parked it about 6 foot away from my drop kerb, that was a good yr :-)

Car was actually in the garage when the person parked there.

Totally true, I had a nasty letter from the council about that.
Sell them elsewhere now.
